only speculating....

but if it's PDK, it would prove so fast, they'd have to detune it. In that case I rather they make only manuals.

on the flip side, having PDKs available would mean that manuals are even rarer.

Hmmm. tough one.

I'm manual only for this car.

+1 Porsche has always been about choice, you're going to pay for it but it's nice to have choices

that said, it's hard to believe they'd make a manual when they don't put one in GT3 or GT3RS?

Looks like we are going to know the details sooner rather than later, there is a post on the Cayman GT 4 forum that the media blackout ends on February 4: http://www.caymangt4.com/forum/porsc...ebruary-4-2015

From my understanding, the choice for manual has to do with the current GT4 racing series regulations which only allow manuals. But do not quote me on this....I am not an expert

you know what.

I'm not so sure.

There's nothing like a porsche but slowly and surely, it's traditional values are being eroded. The last thing I want is a mid-ships 991 alike driving experience.

There seems to be a growing opinion that revolves around this exact feeling. But it's not limited to just Porsche's. Manufacturers are so focused on performance, track times and overall capabilities they have completely lost site of "experience".

I'm very happy with the Spyder, to me it captures what Porsche used to be with just enough modern technology to make it purely fun.

I feel the same about my 997....I feel like the 987 and 997 cars were a great combo of modern tech and driving experience.

boxster spyder is as raw as they get, yet as pretty as they get as well.. an impossible combo that delivered.

I'll get another one if the gt4 disappoints.

I am at the opposite end as you guys - hoping the PDK is an option so we get a choice. I want this bugger to be as fast as possible, and like the new machine doing the work for me. I have the raw 993 when I want to row myself. #1 at my dealer for the GT4.

I hope they don't add auto rev matching with sport plus, I bet they will though.

I think you'll be disappointed, all the rumors are pointing for manual transmission only, it would be too fast with PDK.

http://www.caymangt4.com/articles/13...echnical-specs

Latest rumors of the day:

Displacement: 3.6 l
Horespower: 380 to 400 hp
Weight: under 1,300 kg
Manual transmission only, during the test trial with a 420 hp and PDK it was faster than 991 GT3!

Yeah I don't want this feature either, but if they do have it, hopefully it has a true on/off switch (same with TC and PSM)

Received another email from a dealer claiming that
USA will only receive 200 GT4's and that current 918 owners will have first priority over anyone else.
IF this is true, makes me even happier that I decided to buy a Spyder!
