For ROW / EMEA markets, do you think that a M003 Clubsport specification will be offered ?

that would be sweet.

However they might just skip that option and sell a turn key racer as the alternative.

360hp would be awfully disappointing unless there was a massive bump in torque (not likely). Improved gearing will help, but this car needs 380-400hp.

Porsche CEO, Hatz, says close to 400. It will be at least 380. No credible rumors less than 380.

Wolfgang Hatz is Porsche's R&D head, not CEO .

Anyway, here is TG quoting Hatz on Cayman GT4:

He confirmed there is a Cayman GT4 coming this year. He said it's developed by the motorsport department who do the GT versions of the 911. It will have about 400bhp, and be usefully lighter than a standard car. It's more hardcore than the old Cayman R, he said, and is "for customers who want an entry race car."

That should calm the concerns of a basic parts bin exercise. I wonder how hardcore though. The GT3, for example, while immensely powerful, is quite composed and civil to daily drive. Personally, I'm looking to daily drive the GT4 then take it to the track, so I hope it has the daily driving dual personality that the GT3 has.

Basically, I want a manual GT3 with less power, for less money, in a Cayman shell.

If the RS really is getting a new motor, one that is different from the 991 GT3 motor, it makes you wonder if the 3.6L rumors are true and the GT4 could have this new motor design as well.

Every recent rumor I've heard has said 3.8l 380-400hp. This 3.6l is throwing a curve ball on me!

One of the earlier rumors I had heard on the GT4 was that it would have a 3.6L engine. I forget if it's in this thread or in the one in the GT3 section, but I had posted it somewhere on RL. That same source is now saying 3.8, so I don't really know what to believe. The story has changed a lot over time.

A few months ago someone else had wondered if there may have been some intentional misdirection being fed out to keep people guessing. Either that or different info was being sent out different channels to try and see where leaks were coming from... It could all be a conspiracy, who knows... The rumor I'm most concerned about now is the one that says the car won't have any form of PDK!

I guess you and I are on the opposite ends of the spectrum. One of us is going to be happy, and the other will not

Ideally I'd like to see them offer both MT and PDK, that way everyone can get their preference.
