In this months Panorama Street Talk section…a high performance RS Boxster may be offered, Cayman GT4 38-400 HP, may retail for more than $100K, Cayman/Boxster line refresh as a 2016 model may have turbocharged flat four.

GT4 hedge....ordered a Mustang GT350
given the uncertainty of what the GT4 will actually be (we should know the answers soon enough), put my order in for a Mustang GT350 as a hedge against another Porsche marketing effort
also, hedge against Porsche making only enough to satisfy the 918 owners (first in line) and few others
hoping the GT4 will be lightweight, improved suspension, higher power/better torque and bucket seats
Mustang won't get all four of the above but 3 out of 4 ain't so bad at half the price, plus optional TrakPack
haven't had any American iron in my garage for 30 years...might be a fun change of pace

Nice! I am thinking about doing the same. I am on the 'call me when you know something' plan at 2 dealers, neither of which have an official GT4 list. So many variables though, who knows if I will actually be able to order one. Marketing exercise or not though, I am pretty much all in for a GT4. Motorsports Cayman, limited numbers, how can you go wrong? ;-)
I love the 350 though. This is really, really compelling (sorry if repost):

This is such a sweet looking car, pushes all the right buttons.... hopefully there's something substantive behind the looks and not just another marketing exercise.

Check my last post. I drove a '14 Viper TA at COTA yesterday. Unbelievable. The Corvette as an option is out, especially with the ECU/Overheating issues at the track. I told the dealer that I am in for the Viper if the GT4 misses the mark.

Bless me Porsche…for I have sinned. If the GT4 is not announced by 2/1, I am committed to a Viper TA 2.0. If the GT4 is 390hp of higher, I am ditching the Viper.

Wasn't there a rumor that the Porsche imposed news embargo would be lifted 1 month prior to the Geneva Auto Show; i.e. 2-5-15?

Latest bit I heard, is that the 991.2 will have 3.0L TB for both S and non S models.
The GT4 will get the out going 3.8L S motor at 400HP, and the GT4 RS will be the 3.8L S motor with the power kit. If its true, very good news.
I had a 991 C4S and the motor was great.

Wouldn't actually surprise me if this was the end result (slightly more conservative than what you heard):
981 Cayman GT4 - 3.8L H6 380hp
981.2 Cayman GT4 RS - 3.8L H6 (PowerKit?) 410hp
991.2 C2 - 2.7L Turbo I4 pushing more HP than the current 350hp
991.2 C2S - 3.0L Turbo I4 pushing more HP than the current 400hp
Just my speculation, of course, based on past experience with respect to the step-function power bumps Porsche pushes out (often less than what rumors claim).

While I have no confirmation either way, this all makes sense to me from a business, technology, and future gov regulations standpoint.

i.e.: the Cayman got the "i4" and the 991 will keep the f6.
..or, imo the 911 are just dead !

The GT4 is going to be N/A, I have no doubt. The GT4 RS, it comes, will likely be the last N/A Cayman ever. The "normal" 981.2 Caymans would definitely be turbo, at that point.
So, I agree and disagree with your statement.
