Disagree - when you factor in the RS limited deprecation/appreciation vs GT3 depreciation, the RS is a bargain.
GT4 depreciation is a big uncertainty, I think they'll make more GT4s than GT3s and who knows how it'll factor out.
Ultimately, I care about my total cost of ownership more so than upfront cost of the car. Makes the RS very hard to beat.

Yep, another consideration as well. All I know is that I can't figure out if I want a GT4 or not

Other then no dry sump or improved engine internals and slightly less hp and more weight then I'd have hoped for, the car to me is quite a hit. Anyone looking at used GT3's this presents an great alternative that comes with a new car warranty and can rival a 991 GTS or 997 GT3. Styling is a hit. I love the modern head lights, no need for a 50's style era head lamp in 2015.
It's no 991 GT3 but it possible is the best value new Porsche to date. Now if the GT3 came with a manual gearbox choice and no center locks I'd spend the extra 40k on one but the GT4 to me looks like a more frugal option. I am sure tires will be less expensive due to rear tire size and pads and rotors will last much longer then the heavy *** GT3.

Car for every price point:
Cayman GT4 - $100K
991 GT3 - $150k
991 GT3RS - $200k (TBD)
Albeit these are ballpark numbers, it's pretty close. I think the sweet spot is right in the middle with GT3. I will never buy RS (that's what I'm telling myself :-), as I'm not a tracker, I would never buy a Cayman (for many reasons)--especially at $100k and no PDK-S and that leaves the perfect price point and DD/tracker car--GT3.

Sorry I'm on a 2 week trip of 2 plane rides and a different city per day.
Porsche better stop pissing me off and offer CS in a box.

TRAKCAR -- the U.S. Configurator is up. And they redesigned the mobile site version. You can build it all on your phone. No 3D mode, but still solid.

Anyone watch the autocar interview with AP?.. A few further details emerged
-heavily tested for track durability
-gearbox throws have been shortened both at lever and at the box, and the box itself is mounted on adjustable mounts - says that changes are very precise, and with the extra torque the ratios also feel shorter as car presumably goes through them faster.
-at 3 minute mark I chuckled when AP says "this is definitely not a parts bin special"... I wonder if ole' AP is sitting at his computer reading the harmless silliness we post up day and day out ?

I wonder what admin here will do with the GT4 in terms of subforum? They don't know how to add any more subforums (at least that was the reason we were given at the 987/981 forum...
Edit: actually they don't know how to delete any subforums. Perfect. They can replace the redundant cayman subforum with GT4!
