Exactly. And I suspect anyone thinking one transmission verses the other equally beaten/tracked will be cheaper than the other to maintain are kidding themselves.

He mentions that it is not the end of the NA just yet. I am wondering if that means that there will be a gt3 991.2 with an NA engine as well????

I'm not getting the concern with consumables. It's a Porsche GT car, not a Miata nor even a 'regular' Cayman. I expected the consumables cost to be in the same ballpark as the GT3.

Very nice car, but I don't think it would make sense for me (and perhaps other 997.2 GT3 owners) to trade in for the new GT4.

I'm very pleased with the adaptation of the GT3 suspension and brakes, but the engine is still somewhat a question. During the video they say it's not a true dry-sump. Also I was hoping for a higher revving engine. But other than that it's a stellar car!

Anybody catch the exact tire sizes?

Wondering if there will be 19 inch tires close to the ratio of the 20's?

I do not yet know if I am sold yet. I am going to take a PTS spot on this one and do it. Then will decide by delivery after all the test drives ect if I keep it in addition to the GT3 or sell the GT3/GT4. I am a heel and toe guy so they got me there but still not overwhelmed by the 385 ponies. It does seem still like another neutered Cayman variant again. But lets see the real numbers and get a good peak at suspension and engine.

Guessing it will deliver around 400hp. AP actually said it's a "hot rod". So I'm not surprised with all the borrowed parts. I actually think they've done a great job putting it together and offer it for $85k!!!
Yes, I would have loved to see Carbon hood, better gear box than the GTS and some other light weight stuff but price would have climbed quickly.
Well done Porsche.

a lot of ways to skin that cat. technically, the 918 still uses a naturally aspirated motor. time will tell.

Yes but by the time you load her up you will be in the 120,000 range.

The Manual Z07 may be the better value w/o a doubt here. It kills the Alpha

I doubt there will be many stripper $85k cars in the US. W/ a few options like buckets im thinking closer to $100k drive out.

Agree and for another $30k one can have a big boys car--GT3.

I think GT4 is a great wife car (if they know how to drive stick). That way you don't have to claim it as yours, but can steal it to go rag out at the track. Win/Win.

I wouldn't trade a 7.2 GT3 for the GT4, but I'd buy the GT4 over the 7.2 GT3. This is for use as primarily a track car. I don't think I'd buy either for road-only use.
