718 GT4?

Can anyone comment on sport chrono or dash gauges in guards red on a guards red car? too much red? Too difficult to see on a track? Just debating on that (and maybe the bose but I basically never listen to music in my car so as long as I can hear google maps and podcasts when taking a trip, I'm good). But I think the rest of my spec is pretty much set provided PTS doesn't magically open between now and if/when I get a car.

I would 100% get the blue they have in the configurator but that''s not what gentian blue actually looks like

We should break out into a new thread on the 718 GT4 options and opinions, thoughts? I'm on the fence about selling my high option GT4 for the new 718 GT4, if I do I'll be torn between going with a stripper, modest, or high option build.

That's a good one!!!! But I think I will hold this time for the PDK on the GT4.......expect +/- $5K for the PDK option
As for options on the configurator....if you are on the fence on a few leather/alcantara items remember that some of them can be added later, either OE or by Exclusive Options.
Try to pick the ones you will not be able to get later...for example you can't get the whole dash and door trims...you may be able to get the dash ones but not the doors, so that one you have to pick with the car.

On the GT3, things like PDK-S and Touring options are free. Not sure why it would be different on GT4- maybe they’ll charge for the extra torque bump that should come with the automatic? I wonder how much weight the PDK version will add?

Ohhhhh I really hope you are right on this one........right now I not sure what to expect from PAG in terms of pricing and whats offered.

I agree...it will be free. The PDK will add 40kg,an absolute downgrade. But I get it...people should have the option,I've been saying it all along, even when others were putting the manual transmission down...

Remember that the PDK-S came first and the cheaper manual came later on the GT3. In the GT4 manual is first.

Thanks for sharing this Mike, that otherwise would have been my least favorite thing about the new car. If you can disengage it, great!

In case you didn't spot it, the Boxter/Cayman finally got reasonable size brakes.

My quick 2 sense on your build...add the steering column wrapped in leather. Kicked myself after the fact that I didn’t get it. Very minor but adds a nice touch. If you can afford it, best to add an option now so you don’t kick yourself later, especially if you think you’ll hold onto the car for a long time.

Well half correct, the GT4 981 had the larger GT3 steel (standard) and GT3 ceramic (option), the Spyder had the Carrera S 991 Steel (standard) and the same GT3 Ceramic (option). The Spyder is 1 for 1 vs the GT4 now, including suspension and power outputs where it wasn’t in the 981.
