718 GT4?

Excellent post. The motor is going to be N/A. The next question is capacity. Probably 4 liter without being a GT3 motor. Could there be a Cayman/Boxster 6 as per spy pics, or are these cars just an update of the 718 4T with exhaust separated as per 718 GT4? The 981/781 architecture is going out to 2022/3. Seven year cycle appears to have been lengthened for this Porsche.

I think prices of 981 and 718 GT4s just went up a couple of notches .....I'll just leave this here:

My deposit is in as well. Hopefully I’ll have better luck with a GT4 allocation than my previous GT car attempts!
Unless the 718 GT4 has turbos. Then I’m going to get my deposit back and just by a used 991.2 GT3

Lord Luck out: Please read below again and again and again. You also have been provided proof from recent posts that the 3 litre six (TT) from the 991.2/992 wont fit into a 718 and Porsche have said it in black and white. What evidence do you have that it is a turbo 6? Front wheel side vents? I am not against a turbo 6 as I would enjoy the extra torque. Perhaps you know something we don't? Single turbo perhaps? Please share your information. We are all friends
"After reaffirming the company’s commitment to its larger capacity naturally-aspirated engines, the 3.8-litre and 4.0-litre variants, Achleitner revealed that Porsche examined the idea of fitting the 718 with the 3.0-litre turbo flat-six from the 911 Carrera, but gave up after the engine wouldn’t fit in the engine bay:"
“Six-cylinder turbocharged engine wouldn’t fit,” he said. “Naturally-aspirated we have today, and most likely we will offer versions in the future, like GT4 for example. We keep this line of naturally-aspirated engines in the GT3 and GT3 RS and so on, as well as GT4, we will develop it.”

Keep up mate - things have moved on in the three years since Achleitner made his "most likely" comment to some car journo!

Ah, "the proof". A comment from a Porsche engineer three years ago, who's now retired - and even then he says in the his comment "most likely" - nothing like as definitive as you would like to pretend. Oh, and "the proof" from posters on this forum who have been proven wrong time and time again.

In other news, does anyone else have a video of a GT3RS with a GPF? Aren’t there EU RS with GPF now? Would be interested to see how much sound it robs on one.

The new GT4 sounds similar to the 992 GT3 revving at maybe 7000-8000 rpm.
They both sound different from the current GT3 RS. Really think it's the GPF that's messing the sound on both the cars and they're still NA.
