Or Whoopsy could be this evil evil person who's saying things that sound a particular way and having a laugh till when the cars eventually get unveiled and we all see that the Spyder got a different engine from the other 3 cars (GT4 and GT4 CS getting a slightly de-tuned engine than the RS with all 3 cars getting a de-tuned version of the GT3 engine).

Well the next GT4 isn't in production yet either. From what I read GT4 CS debut/delivery will be early next year at Daytona.

I am a little confused about the three transmissions. If you cannot use a sequential, there are only two transmissions available, manual or PDK(DCT).S is just a setting on the trans, not a different trans. I am hoping the speculation off of Woopsy's post about no PDK for the GT4 is wrong because I am only interested in PDK and I think an RS will be a tough one to get.

" 2 different engines, 3 share one and the other one have the other one.
GT4 Coupe, Spyder and GT4 CS share the same engine (evolution of the 3.8 from the 981 GT4) and the GT4 RS has a different one (4.0L from the GT3). I would love this to be wrong and instead have the GT4 Coupe, GT4 CS and GT4 RS have the same engine with the Spyder having the different engine. "
But why would they put the "lesser" engine in the race car? Cost?
The race car's engine has to be based on a current production engine but if there's two variants of the GT4 that's not an issue.

The original spirit of the GT4CS was to keep maintenance down. Hence it gets a mass production engine and a mass production transmission. It has no rebuild schedule unlike other Porsche racing cars. It only calls for Ann oil change every year or 5000km, and an inspection of joints and stuff.
The GT4 class was basically built around the GT4CS to keep cost down.
Then Mercedes and McLaren came in and ruin the party by detuning a GT3 race car to make them a GT4 class race car.
The incoming GT4CS is keeping the original idea of keeping running cost down.
I was racing at the Hockenheimring last weekend in a Cup car. In the same field we have a bunch of GT4CS. In the infield section the GT4CS are happily keeping up with the Cup car in agility. We called them annoying flies that keep buzzing around. One would pull out a lead on the long straight due to HP advantage but they inevitably get close again in the infield section. Despite the lack of HP, a GT4CS is a seriously quick race car.

Whoopsy, the one thing that’s really puzzling is the redline on the new GT4.
Is is it really just 7700 ?. The regular Caymans and pretty much everything that Porsche sells now has 7500 as the redline. I really thought that the redline on the next GT4 would at least go up to 8K.

I never said 7700. I just said above 7k.
If one bumps the displacement, it's harder to bump the redline too.
