718 GT4?

The GT4s we have seen so far also have the same standard looking air inlets on the side as the Spyder which can now be assumed to be 4 pot turbo more likely than not. The more aggressive outward air "scoop" that was meant to help airflow into the intake for the 981's larger NA engine is gone. It's enough to make you worried.

I'm just not as convinced as the rest of you that it's a turbo in the video. The thing is barely moving. I listened to it a bunch of times. I just can't make a call on that.

I also understand it's (probably) a cell phone video posted on the internet but that exhaust note has the burble of a 718, not the growl of a 981.

Around the 11 second mark in the video you can very clearly hear it sounds like the 718 4 banger we already know. Not a flat 6 therefore necessarily turbo.

I'm no expert, but I agree it doesn't sound like the 4.0L or the old 3.8L. The big question will be if it's the same story in the GT4. Just on this video alone, the odds are higher. However, one thing I've notice so far is the Spyder front bumper is still like the GTS, while the GT4 has a "GT" bumper with even bigger openings. Anyone think that may suggest a different engine? Or is the Spyder going to inherit that bumper later in production so they have similar styling like the 981?
