Whoopsy, has Porsche ever sent goons to your front door in efforts to silence you?

I will ask about that.

As for centre lock wheels, they weren't on the previous gen street car nor the race car, somehow I don't think they will do it on the incoming car.
Agreed.
It would also unnecessarily drive up the price point of the 718 GT4.

981 CS has PDK yet the street was Manual only... so that logic though sounds good, doesn’t mean they will go that route with the CS mirroring the street... but heck, you never know.

Well I don't work for Porsche and I paid them enough that they don't do that

Plus, I know where the limit is and I just dance around it all the time, I don't blatantly crosses it.

My two cents worth again. Despite what you all say and hope and despite what Mr Whoopsy says, I still think it will be a 4 cyl 2.7 or 3.0 l turbo with PDK option. Larger capacity via bore or even a different crank. 420-440 BHP and great torque. If I'm correct it would be a great lightweight GT car and I'd be a buyer for sure. From a manufacturing viewpoint, a 6 cyl just does not make sense, especially if it needs a dry sump as there is simply no room.

I don't think the sound is compatible with any 4 cylinder at this point.

But because this is Porsche we do know a few things. It is going to be gimped in some form or other. Expect a power level below Carrera S if turbo. If NA it could match but probably not exceed 420. PDK is unlikely because it makes the car faster - makes sense for the race cars but not the road where they want performance to be below 911S/GTS and a manual box does a good job with that - plus it's easy to explain from the driving enthusiast angle.

If flat 6 NA nothing like the GT engine and going by the available evidence the worst sounding H6 Porsche has made to date, likely from the emission regs.

4 cly turbo with PDK is already available. The GTS.....
Trust me, they will not make a GTS with added aero and call it a "GT4" and try to run it in GT4 racing world wide...

@Warwick Morris: You should look at Whoopsy’s previous posts. Dunno what type of cleaning ladies the guy knows but he’s been very accurate in the past about things that most people wouldn’t have expected.

There's no doubt that the last video posted (from Monza) sounds absolutely HORRIBLE.

One thing that needs to be taken into account is the exhaust tubing and muffler will be different on a Cayman when compared to a 911 (mid engine vs. rear engine). So the sound will never quite be the same regardless of motor used.

They are using an exhaust plug (get your mind out of the gutter) to mask the sound
