I think a better (or more interesting) poll might to be to find out how many of us actually correct others, especially the non-P-car owners, who mis-pronounce it and don't know any better!!

Still good fun, nonetheless.

I noticed that too...coupe IS a french word and should have the little thingy above the e, so coup-aye would be correct, but I don't know of ANYONE that says it that way. Nex thing you know we'll be coming up with a funny way of saying sedan or hatchback!

That's a funny thread!

I'm a German native speaker and have to admit that I've never heard an American saying Porsche the right way (interpreting the right way as the Porsche family from Salzburg calls themself). In American English there's just too much chewing gum in the pronunciation.

I say Porsch when I speak English; just because nobody understands me when I say Porsche the German/Austrian way between English words.

We should put up our surnames and see how people pronounce them. I will go first.

Yes, I've heard about those convesations where two guys are talking about wanting to repaint their prized possessions. Then one of them mentions he plans to use a roller to keep the stain from dripping down the side of his trailer.

That is the English version I believe, the German is slurred like Rishter, but yes, that is how we pronounce.

I'd say Low - c

I'm english so you get the english version lol.

Low - c is perfect but 1 in 10 in real life says it right.

It's lowsay, lowse-ie, lows-ie, lossy, lassy, loose, loose-ie etc.

I'd never correct someone for mispronouncing the word. It's kind of rude to walk around telling people that they're pronouncing words incorrectly, even if that's what they're doing.
