Default How do you pronounce Porsche?

Even though the "correct" way is Porsha, I have always pronounced it porsh. Don't think I could ever say it another way. I'm wrong.

It should be Porsche, how it was meant to be.
Porsch is for those who don't own one or who don't know better.

It's like Hyundai for example, I hear all the wrong pronunciations, but the correct one.
Hahnday...Hy-enday...WTF?

I asked this question in the Stuttgart factory this fall for Porsche. They told me "poorsha" is the correct pronunciation.

Right, I think we all know that. Just wanted to see how many people pronounce it "wrong", as I do.

Is this a trick question? It's a two syllable word....so says F. Porsche himself. Try this link for an interview with him, where he voices the correct pronunciation of his name.

The key is to own more than one, then when you talk about them you say "porsches" which sounds like the correct way.

I'm not quite sure I understand the problem. If you know the correct pronunciation (it's a surname, for Christ's sake), then why would you mis-pronounce it? It isn't about being pompous or elitist, it's about giving proper respect to its origin. I mean, does anyone pronounce the name as Chevro-lett?

It's simple. Some people, including me pronounce it Porsh. Just posting a poll to see what the % of P-owners do the same.

Just the way I've always pronounced it.

Is it pronounced Missouree or Missoura? The answer is what part of Missouri you're from!!
