Well the 983 EV is basically a Dead product in the NA market. So the discussion drifts to other Porsche EV's and the differences in Market Dynamics between the EU & NA.
It's all Porsche related......

Clearly there are people in here that are interested in talking about THE CAR. Debate the global topic of EV vs ICE elsewhere. In fact, here is the thread to discuss that exact topic. (And full of the same people, hmm)

Yep, same old, same old. People that are just mad about EVs and have nothing better to do than troll the one thread on a car they don't even want.

Ok, so move this to Porsche General and change the title.

Good suggestion!

lol. Quite true!

The financial calculus is different on sports car that holds its value vs one that doesn’t.
200K for a GT car no problem
200k for an EV that will be worth 100K in 2 years, heck no.

I’d consider a preowned porsche EV, but not a new one.

I have never leased a car before because I would most likely go over the mileage. But … for a 983 or Macan EV that might be the better route to go based on how the pricing is on used Taycans. I saw how the market value on my 2018 Cayman GTS 2.5T dropped, the EV models might be worse!

I know two dealers in New England who have gotten 10-15 over on multiple macan EV. They are even on this very forum as well.

10 over on the base. Roughly 15 on the turbo.

Yes, considering we are very good friends, actual friends, not the dealer is my "friend" and I have seen the PO data and correspondence.

I'm just relaying it to everyone so they can not pay the ridiculous adm's. I think it's shameful. But the plan is to do the same with the 718EV. 10-15K over.

If the Boxster EV shares the PPE platform of the Macan EV, and the Macan EV has front double wishbone, does that indicate the Boxster EV is front double wishbone as well? Or does the air suspension change things.

Not necessarily. Much less room to add this in a Boxster vs a Macan.

I hope Porsche had a similar mindset when designing the new 718: https://www.motor1.com/news/718129/s...ngines-in-evs/

If the lack of Macan EV interest is any indication (my dealer has 2 orders and no one on wait list), Porsche is going to have a real problem moving 718 EV units after the initial hype and early adopters.

Can your friend direct me to these customers willing to throw money away? I have a few business opportunities including bridge sales and Nigerian princes.

Not my friends but what would be categorized as your average porsche customer now. High household income, not super into cars, more into badging and appearances and throws money away since the dealer tells them "they won't be able to get this anywhere else"

It's really horrible whats is going on. Meanwhile when these macan turbos are traded in, in lets say 2 years, they will be worth roughly 45-50K maybe on a trade. So your eat 50K depreciation plus the ADM fee of 10-15K.

People can crap on what im saying but there's people on this forum who sell the cars, or are buying these cars and paying these ADM's happily.
