Rennlist iRacing thread
Video from last night. Quite a few great battles!
Gotta say - even though I've only been a "regular" for a short while w/r/t RL'ers meeting up to go iRacing, it's REALLY cool to see how far some of you guys have come. We have little mini-battles going on all the way to the back of the pack now.
I'm hopeful we can keep up this attendance throughout what's traditionally the slower months (aka "the summer"). I know I'll probably miss more Sunday night practices (warm weather = more family stuff, BBQs, etc), but should make most of the Weds night races.

I will give it a try tis weekend. It is amazing that you can't take the same resolution that you run another dozen tracks from IRacing and have the same resolution at COTA. How did you find the experience with the new tire models on the COTA track? Do you have a setup I could try to start out and ease the pain??

Like I said, I noticed it too. But then I also have ALL the eye candy on. I'm running the Rift which is only 1280x800 on a GTX770 so IMO I *should* be able to run it all. To be fair, I have not spent much time at Spa in the Rift, to know if I also take a framerate hit there too while Rifting... lots of trees and shadows combined with the low resolution of the Rift make it hard to see, so I've generally avoided going there. But back when I was running triples (on my old 6970) I definitely had to turn things down to run there and maintain 60fps.
There *are* a couple tracks that seem to be framerate killers. Spa is one. Silverstone might still be (it definitely used to be...) Maybe COTA is just the worst one.

See you there! I'm glad they finished the COTA build in time for us to run some practice laps; I haven't been there in real life before. I'll be around the TOPP Racing garages, feel free to drop by.
I've got 2 "base" sets, which have slowly morphed into just one base set. One is based on Justin's Watkins setup, the other is one I got from Tom (which was apparently actually Julian's setup) from Mid-Ohio.
The Tom/Julian set is stiff, needs lots of trail-braking to turn in... but is consistent.
Justin's set is more loose and tail happy, but turns in better without needing as much trail braking. It's also VERY soft by comparison and soaks up curbs and bumps much better.
I've slowly been morphing the two - taking the Tom/Julian set and softening it to be more like Justin's over the bumps. I'd recommend you do something similar. Start with the set I shared with you earlier this week. It's actually pretty universal and works on just about all the tracks, just needs a little tweaking here and there for flavor.
