Anyone with Fanatec Pedals, I've found a neat little app to enable the vibrator in the break pedal ! I like it.

COTA is going to be a tough track to qualify on, just reviewing the laps of the group all of us just have just a couple of clean laps if that. Its so easy to get an off on this track.
I say astro turf is a racing service :-)

Yeah, I just downloaded the track and ran a few laps by myself in test mode. Jeebus, this track is not easy at all, though, if you have your FOV set properly, it is relatively easy to catch the car in a slide through on the seemingly bazillion hairpins.

Hopefully we can have a practice tomorrow night, and assuming I have time, I would like to follow some folks around.

I'm getting pretty good at the west course... but I get pretty lost in the east section. It should even out to a decent lap time. I've been trying longer runs with setups to minimize wear instead of going for outright absolute pace. We'll see how this works out.

Sorry I didn't stick around too long last night... was exhausted. Last two days have been LONG days. My wife runs the PCA region's Cars'n'Coffee events and we had our first one this past Saturday (4:30am wakeup to get to the place ahead of everyone) then yesterday was our regions Autocross School (I run the indoor classroom) so it was another ~5am wakeup to get to the venue....

But yes this week will be interesting. I predict less "taking each other out" and more "taking ourselves out" this week.

Hi. Some advice please. What are your opinions on using the Driving Line feature in iRacing to learn new tracks and turning it off once familiar with the track? And what other methods are recommended to learn a new track?

At first, I'd start in a test session alone so you aren't worrying about messing up other people and just hammer out laps. Fill the tank up to race fuel and just drive. I never use the driving line, I feel like I learn better when my brain has to use visual cues and landmarks to learn the track. Once you can turn 10-15 laps in a row without dropping a wheel, turn on the "session optimal sector" split timer and start focusing on improving individual sectors. I'll hit a point when I very rarely set anymore purple sectors and then I try stringing good sectors together into a good flying lap. That's where it's fun to pop into an open session to see how you compare to other drivers.
