Thanks @Palantir . Looks like 2.2 labor hours were charged for the battery diagnosis and replacement. Seems more than double what it actually takes.

I replaced my battery with an AGM.

Actually I guess I replaced the whole Cayenne with another Porsche lol

Guess I should be thankful, this whole thing with the battery made me really start thinking about my car and led me to the conclusion that it wasn’t what I was actually looking for.

Our 2019 Cayenne Base is at the dealer right now getting the POS Lithium battery swapped out right now. I can't believe that Porsche NA isn't doing anything to help people out with this. After talking to the SA and expressing my displeasure about the situation, she had the nerve to call back later that afternoon and ask if they can flush the brake lines, perform our 40k mile service (ahead of schedule) and replace our motor mounts. No thanks, I don't want to give your dealership my next 4 months of mortgage payments today. WTAF, I'm already pissed you're charging me $2700 for a battery, get a clue.

Yep. They said they were starting to leak. Car has less than 40k miles.

Starting to leak sounds like a dealer drumming up service revenue. Leaking engine mounts are common on German luxury SUVs, but if the driver experienced no symptoms, why not do this expensive project later rather than sooner?

Did you report symptoms of failing engine mounts to the dealer when dropping the car off for service?

Wait ... replace your motor mounts??? Why on earth would your dealer want to do that? Are you having a vibration or noise issue?

Less than 40,000 miles and motor mounts need to be replaced already.? With no symptoms?

I would go and get a second opinion from an independent and report back..

Hopefully the Porsche dealer will not do anything stupid if you decline the repair.. if they are unethical, and I know of more than one dealer (Mercedes in this case) that took parts from other vehicles to install on their used vehicles for sale.. spare tires, etc..etc..

I complained and sent a letter to the owner, and of course, there was no response.. only a threat stating that if I knew who I was dealing with, I would keep my mouth shut.. I laugh my *** off, but I was travelling all over internationally, so I never filed a lawsuit.. should have and would do it now.. but no time then..

Yes indeed, there are very unethical and crooked dealers out there..

Nope, no symptoms or anything. Dealer tech does a walk around/under the vehicle with a camera to document any issues they find and services they recommend. The video does show a small amount of fluid at the motor mounts, but I politely declined their offer.

A small amount of fluid could be water from the road below or drips from pouring in oil above. Good that you declined.

I have no reason to believe that they're not starting to seep a bit of fluid, but they certainly don't need replacement right now.

On the battery front, the dealer replaced it and we got our Cayenne back. The bill was $2700. As a (not so) hilarious side-note, I emailed the SA inquiring about the warranty on said new battery... Are you ready for this? A whopping 2 years.
