Default Hood sound deadening pad on 2011 Cayenne Turbo?

My 2011 Cayenne Turbo does not have the hood sound pad installed like my Panamera Turbo, so I ordered one. Then I saw a few other Turbos and noted they didn't have one either.

Did they come from the factory without one? Perhaps the turbo engines sit higher in the chassis and the hood pad doesn't fit?

It's only equipped for hybrids. The factory would have used one if it was meant to have it.
Been mentioned before here:

Ha, my first thought was they left it off to prevent the engine bay from getting too hot. That's a 180º turn from what I was thinking a few years ago from my previous posts.

The diesel's have the pad, but that's presumably for engine noise more than anything else, I'm sure.

I'd like to see a picture of it when you get it.

I'll post a picture once its installed. If it comes with clips, it'll be done today. If not, I'll order the clips and post next week.

So wouldn't the liner retain heat in the engine bay and make the engine run hotter since it basically act as insulation? Its true the hood might be kept cooler with one when you are driving, but since when the engine is running, you are normally driving, which will produce airflow and cool the hood, I would suspect it wouldn't be necessarily unless your doing lots of very very slow driving. For a hood that is sitting in the sun, without the car running, a liner might make the hood hotter since it would keep heat from radiating out from the bottom,

It just seems like one of those things that was likely not included for a reason.

It certainly could, but all cars come with a hood liner, even my Panamera Turbo with the same engine has one. It seems more odd to me that it's prepped for one, but not included.

Well, it's here and installed. It's a very thin foam, came with the needed amount of clip and installed in 4-5 minutes.

I had the same plan but never got around to it. Certainly makes the underhood look more finished.

Did you notice any difference in noise inside the car or anything else?

It seems to be quieter, but maybe that's because I want it to be....

Isn't it a cleaner look? Not sure why they don't come this way......it's a vry thin/light weight foam.

All for $100 delivered with clips!!
