Thanks for clarifying. I was just using the CTEK when I was programming the wife's Macan and the battery never dipped below 12.3v.

Thanks again John for your guidance. Ordered the PM4-75 inverter from Amazon a VAS6154 from MF member and sent an email to Alex over yonder with request for total cost for dual image on external SSD drive for a MAC.

Siberian - sorry to jump in mid-thread (and ignorant), but what 2021 are you trying to deal with and what are you trying to do? If you're aware of the "hidden features" thread over on MF, practically everything I've posted has been about what I've done with 23.82 and my 2021 Macan GTS (mainly coding work). Personally, in the coding area, so much of what was English (in the English software version) in 23.82, is now German in 23.85, I can't recommend it for coding unless you already know how to use a Launch x431 on a Porsche for coding.
I recently bought one of the Launch devices and most of the stuff is in German. I'm breaking my head over it, returning devices for new ones. This makes sense, the language files messed up.

Experience shows that the VAS clone heads don't seem to work with LED headlights. They do however with Xenons.
Baud rate seems to be the issue in fact.
It's not an issue of your VM, I guess you tried on a LED equipped car??

Hey Rainer, I'm getting ready to order PIWIS3 and run it on a MAC on an external SSD drive under Parallel (which I was told was fine). Any idea, as I have an old copy of XP SP2, whether it will run on that or does it need a special Win version? While I'm at it with questions:
Will this POWERMAX in anyway endanger my LiFePO4 battery? Most folks have either wet or AGM ones, has anyone run it on one of the newer batteries?

Siberian,
not sure what exactly you ordered for your Piwis 3. It normally comes as a full clone of a Win8.1 image, either on a SSD (native install) or as a VM. You likely not get an install package but just a cloned copy.
I heard some folks upgraded to WIN 10, but I don't see any functional advantage.
It would anyhow not run on an old Win XP, this was the standard OS for the older Piwis 2. Some folks upgraded to WIN7, but that never really worked as a whole.

Herzlichen Dank! So from what I gather, as you mentioned, it comes embedded in an OS (Win8). I'll reach out to Alex to make sure. Any thoughts on the POWERMAX question?

All the RC forums where the power supply quest started use lithium batteries, and they're using 100 Amp power sources. I would do some more research and reading, but imagine it would be OK.
Search for power supply for coding and power supply for programming, there are quite a few forums, especially BMW
Also power supply for lithium batteries in RC forums-

So Mega provides 20GB of free storage (Firefox, Safari etc. can't handle it only other option is Google Chrome). Given the two files are combined nearly 80GB I had to pay for a month... man I miss my VAG-COM....

After 9.5 hours the download finished...
OK now to find a version of Parallels to run on my old MBP and Costco to buy a 1TB USB SSD.

What's the best version of Windows to run with Parallels and PIWIS3?

Just trying to use what I have and given I've migrated to the M1 Mac from a MBP the old one is a great repository running Parallels Desktop. I assume Windows 7 would work? I have an old netbook with XP SP2 for VCDS but that won't work on this software. I'm trying to avoid adding more h/w that I rarely use (VAG-COM I need for my V8 Touareg and a friend's Q7 and another one's V6 Touareg)
