We can adjust the ringtone volume. It's default to 50% but I've changed mine to 30%.

Came across this under "News groups" in the gateway module

It's YES to "Data Record-Byte 1-Default mode" but NO to "Data Record-Byte 1-Silent-Mode.

Interesting...I wonder if this relates to the "blackbox" data recording.

(maybe look into the audio volume reset to a low level at startup? or do not default to radio at all, it freaks me out sometimes)

Edit. I've looked through the entire PCM coding menu and do not see anything remotely related.

Code the footwell lights to LED so you can use any regular LED instead of the canbus ones.

I think in the 2015+ models, you can't permanently disable the start/stop? In the Engine module, there is a coding for the start/stop function. I set it to Inactive for now. Haven't test it but I'm hoping I can finally turn off the LED light on the console button.

Start/Stop is located in both the Engine and Gateway module. I've deactivated it in both. Will test and report back.

Edit: tested and I still need to keep the buttom on the center console activated. Maybe only effective on 2015+ model?

(1 more reserve....that's it for today. Need to get a battery charger and hook it up. Manual recommends a fully charged battery before coding. Said it will brick the module if the power cuts out during mid-write. I don't like idling my car.)

Can anyone recommend a good charger for this type of thing? I don't think a battery tender is going to cut it.

OK, I'm intrigued. I was looking at getting a PIWIS 2--do you have a Cliff's notes for how this compares?

What device do you need to perform these coding changes?

I would love to see a supported vehicle list to see if it works with the 2018 Macan S, which requires a PIWIS 3. I was about to buy a clone one and I'm wondering if this will be able to code the same features. The first thing I wanted to code on my Macan was the MFD boost pressure display in the instrument cluster to 1.6 BAR, in PIWIS Engineering Mode (German) it is:

Kombiinstrument_Gen2_A2.2
Weitere Codierungen: Max. Ladedruck
Wert = 1.6 BAR
Weitere Codierungen: Ladedruck Sport
Wert = 1.6 BAR

Sorry if I am going off topic, I'm just really wondering if it has this capability as its nearly 1/3 the cost of a PIWIS 3.

I have no experience with the PIWIS. I did look into it back in 2015 but decided to not get 1.

Another note, I've read that companies like Autel and Launch are getting sued by Ford, GM and probably other car manufacturers. Apparently, they reversed engineered the OEM scan tools and incorporated them into their devices. I wouldn't be surprised if PIWIS was reversed engineered.

This is on the Launch x431 V+. I believe Launch iCarScan has the coding option if the Porsche software is up to date. My iCarScan stopped receiving updates back in 2015 and it's stuck on version 21.80. My V+ is running the latest, 23.60

If you live near me and want to meet up and test, PM me. This goes for everyone else. I'm in Princeton, NJ.

Yes, there are tons of coding in the instrument cluster. The seatbelt chime is turned on/off in here.

Ok, the value I am trying to change in English would be "Max Boost Pressure / Boost Pressure Sport" and it would likely be set to 1.2 BAR from the factory. The reason I am trying to change this is because with the COBB Stage 1 map, it raises the boost pressure to 1.6 BAR but the MFD maxxes out at 1.2 unless it is re-coded.
