i lubed my turbo actuator rods a few weeks ago then passed the lube onto another LA turbo owner here on rl. i also a few days ago replaced the tmps sensors which were believed to be the original ones from 07
Any recommendations on wax/sealant for GT Silver? I've got some Klasse sealant glaze, a few waxes, and some Sonax Polynetshield. I've got alot of pollen in my area but want to put something on that'll last and last yet bring out GT Silver wonderfully. Waxes don't usually cut it for me for durability. Sonax is great for ease, Klasse is a PITA but lasts forever. Just welcome your experiences
finished installing the RSS components for the suspension/chassis and then completed the alignment using strings *gasp* yep it works well but is tedious having to take the wheels on and off many times, test driving, set up string box again, loosen everything, adjust, repeat. Took about 3 rounds of that and I'm happy with it. Went with a front toe out set up, though just barely toe out...

Very clean 997 Turbo! Any particular reason you lubed the actuator rods? Are they known to bind? Also, wouldn't the oil/grease burn off? Thanks.

yes you're supposed to lube the ball joints regularly maybe once every few years if you live in a dry climate and every year or so if you live in a wet/cold climate
the lube is a special porsche lube that bonds to metal and will not wash off or come off. more info on this thread
as for what caused it ? not sure, water somehow got in. Everything was working fine, the only reason I even found it was because while I was getting ready for my Europipe to arrive, while removing exhaust studs, one of them snapped on me. Tried to drill it out myself, even welding a nut, just couldn't get it out. Had to remove driver side Turbocharger and take it to machine shop.
Today I ordered dust/water caps ( Bosch p473 4 way ) for those connectors. Should arrive this Thursday.

Thanks for the link, mine are fine but will save the information.
I installed and EP-2 last August, I haven't used the radio since.
Forget how good we have it with the lack of rust on the west coast.
well, I don't drive during winter, and hardly when it rains, but can't comment on previous 2 owners. But I bought Molykote P-37 antiseize and I plan to use it on exhaust and turbo studs.

Steph @europipe will send you the factory copper antiseize.

Leatherique 2 step condition and clean on my seats, door panels, and steering wheel. I also changed out the passenger side floor vent/12V outlet from sand beige to black. It now matches the carpet instead of the dash and disappears in the passenger footwell. It's also interesting to see how much sand beige appearance varies when photographed. These pictures were taken within seconds of each other, but the sand beige appears to be completely different shades in each picture. These pictures were both taken in my garage. The only thing that changed was position relative to the car.
I also recently replaced the ~10 year old Sony head unit with a Kenwood DMX906s. I just wanted to add Android Auto and Carplay. I had no complaints with the sound. The car already had a nice aftermarket sound system installed by the previous owner ($10k+ worth of receipts for head unit, speakers, amplifier, sound deadening, etc), but I couldn't believe how much better it now sounds with the new head unit. I'm not sure if the old Sony head unit didn't have 5V preouts like the new Kenwood, but it is now much better in all aspects, even with the all EQ settings zeroed out.
