The 997 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...
@Wonderdan your car has red lettering so I think it might look good on yours. On the silver car, it just looks random. However, that car comes with a second set of wheels in black and those are shown with the stock silver locknuts so next owner cal easily swap out.
Otherwise this is the best non RS GT3 I’ve seen in awhile. The PCCB’s with the sport buckets finished in one of the better colors for this car really does it for me. If I were in the market for one of these cars I would be all over this one.
Agreed. Great spec and color combo. Interesting to see it on PCarMarket vs BAT. BAT usually gets the cream of the crop.
White 997.1 GT3 with 33k miles for only $125k. Seems like a great deal for a clean stock car with perfect mileage for someone looking to drive it.

Not that it's all that critical, but I think I recall when doing research on this car previously that the owner had recorded a few track sessions on youtube?
Found it:

It doesn’t looks as good on this car. The red centerlocks IMO work on red cars or cars with red accents such as brake calipers or decals. Also the carbon fiber mirror covers with the lower finished in body color is quite a nice touch. The centerlocks and the mirror covers are discontinued Porsche Tequipment parts.

Blips were good, shifts were decent... had to double blip once cause he missed the timing but didn't drop the clutch... looks like a Tuesday to me. If he had stock exhaust on it would sound like every other video on the PCH.

To me it looked like a guy with significant seat time experience that wanted to take his GT3 out for a day.
I would say for you guys looking for a driver, if your just a little bit handy you can full refresh these cars for less than $10k (excluding PCCB)…so just remember that when your OCD kicks in.
If I was looking for another driver I’d look at things that would bug me over time…body+paint+seats(subjective) and things that can blow the budget…transmission(objective)… engine failure is always a possibility but w/a Mezger that’s betting on the apocalypse imo.
Having also owned an original showroom GT3 it weighed on my mind more than it should have and I don't miss it even the slightest.

Anyhow, the issue made me quite nervous to keep the car without warranty, which may or may not have been the best decision. Went in to service the GT3 a year later and left with a 981 Spyder. The Spyder is out of warranty of course, but it’s also 6 years younger and only had 7500 miles vs 22k miles on the GT3. Continuing to read about the coolant hose failures and having my exhaust bank crack made ownership experience much more worrisome personally. I do miss the GT3, but my Spyder is 90% of the what the GT3 was IMO, especially after my FVD tune. I do miss the sound of the GT3 though.
I completely agree, I was nearing the end of my CPO of a 2010 GT3, this was in 2019. One of the mufflers (they are located on each side of the rear end), cant recall what the technical term was, but it was the OEM part before the SharkWerks exhaust, that cracked and made a horrible rattling noise. Repair was $5k, Porsche North Houston repaired at no cost and no questions asked.

I’m sorry that something like that made your ownership more stressful but that’s pretty tame as far as things going wrong. 981/991 strut tower failure is however something I did think about often on my GT4
