this car would've likely pulled $110K+ only a few months ago, stories and all.

This one came up at Porsche Colorado Springs...I may stop in tomorrow while I'm in town for work even though she is out of my price range. I'm happy with my .2 GT3.

Please, let me know what other car at this price point can give the joy and driving experience like a 997 GT3. You want a garage queen? Buy a museum piece and never drive it because guilt.

Heck, I wouldn’t have sold the car for that price stories and everything. It’s a great driver's car to buy and drive the wheels off. I wouldn’t be selling any car now. Keep it and try again in the spring. Eventually, it will go up again. Try to find me another one at that price point. Most of the these 15 year old cars have some kind of story. Don’t be fooled thinking that they haven’t been tracked.

07 GR 997 gt3 55k miles just hammered at $83K plus fees on pcarmarket

Seller is an idiot and the car was a bit storied. nonetheless, another sign of the bubble deflating.

The current fella asked me a myriad of questions as if he was piecing together a history for his needs as an enthusiast, but apparently was a ruse for a sale.
Feel free to PM me with any questions.

discussion for another thread… but ‘while your in there’ can mean a lot of things.
really just O2 sensors, plugs, filters, fluids, waterpump, O-rings, coolant expansion tank, Serpentine belt and actuator bolt inspection
But if you spend too much time reading Rennlist you’ll also need a numeric shifter, guards LSD, new front and rear seal, 4.0 clutch kit and LWFW w/harmonic balancer and maybe some new motorsport gears… god help us all

The good news is the engine in essence has about 39k miles on it since it was replaced at 16k. The transmission problem was not disclosed on the BAT auction if I have my facts straight, so the seller pulled off the bandaid and simply let it go.
Hey everyone, i don't post much on here but i read this thread daily. I bought my .2 about 6 months ago and am likely going to be selling it to get a .1, or go back to a 996 gt3, ideally something with more track focus (rather than modifying/ruining a clean .2). Do you guys think anyone on here would be willing to trade a higher mileage (ideally over 60k miles) .1 or 996.2 gt3 (modified is totally okay so long as done well), for a 39k mile 997.2 (black car, white accents, painted hard backs, steel brakes, very clean dme, services up to date)? should i list here and hope to find a trade? or should i sell it and try to buy something instead? i've never bought or sold off rennlist so i figured i'd get some of your opinions on here prior to just shooting in the dark.

Judging what was done would probably be challenging. You could possibly get a look at the water pump (I think) and fuel filter. You also could probably take a look at the coil packs if you're willing to take some paneling off. Drive belt also could be inspected. But everything else would probably be challenging to look at.
If the car came from a smaller city, it may be worthwhile to call up some of the Porsche shops in that city to see if your car was there and see if they can give you some info over the phone of what was done. Some may not want to send you an invoice (even with redacted owner info), but most are pretty friendly and will be willing to give you the basic info over the phone.
Best of luck and happy to help!
