I understand & agree with your last sentence. But the one highlighted baffles me a bit too. Regardless of what someone bought theirs for (lets say 3-4 yrs ago or longer),.. why would they be happy? to underprice their car by (lets say...) $40k or more below current Market levels? ... is the answer; "just for a quick sale" ?
I get your point that there are some low basis owners out there (but certainly not "thousands"),.. who "might" need some quick cash due to a life situation, .... and maybe the feeling of having liquidity is great,... but this inflated market pricing is in EVERYONE's heads right now,... so I just don't quite clearly understand your point there. Maybe the 2 key words in your sentence is "if required". ... otherwise I'm needing more clarification to better understand your view point.

Yes, my 996ttis in the Marketplace. It's just not driven with me racing, only put 1000 miles on it in the past 13 months. My 996 GT3 gets more love fortunately.
Yea but in this case the $205k plus fees for a 13k mile car without PCCB was an outlier. Nice car, just a smidge high https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...he-911-gt3-46/
As to the RNM auctions, it's not so much that the bids were low or a market correction as much as reserve was too high. You can't expect the next one to be equal to or a smidge higher than the last. That's was sellers have been doing quite often.
We've hit the top....for the moment. I see a lot of 911's dropping in price a little like Fourwheel Trader said on Youtube My 2015 GTS is worth what I bought it for four years ago. Crazy. I don't see it for 996 and 997 GT cars. They are different.

Maybe a smidge high based on options and mileage but not sure I would call it an outlier. An outlier would be some crazy number that can be discarded for statistical purposes. We've seen several 997.2s sell for over $200k so this one at $210k was certainly in the ballpark . To be honest, I'm surprised you sold yours for only $180k (assuming this based on your prior posts) to of all people All Things Porsches. I think that was way under market given yours was under 10k miles and had PCCBs. Very surprised it sat for sale that long. I thin BaT would have been a great platform to sell that car. It had everything going for it to generate some bidding frenzy.
I sold it to a member. The dude from All Things Porsche was a douche. It is a beautiful car.
1600-mile Carrara White .1 GT3. PCCB and full leather. Priced at $225k. This is the highest priced .1 GT3 I have ever seen, but definitely one of the nicest.

Looks like this GT Silver .1 GT3 is being prepped for BAT. Here is sellers BAT page. They were asking $148k about a month ago before pulling the listing.
