Man I’m going through some past BAT 997 GT3 listings, and can’t believe the 25k mile Sharkwerks 3.9 997.1 sold for only $110k back in 3/2021. If I was in market then, I would have gobbled that one up. I need to stop looking….
I remember watching that car and really wishing I would have bid. I thought it was going to go for more.

You can copy my bad habits on BAT and Pcarmarket, I bid what I would consider to be a "sweet deal" on every car I want and then don't return until the auction is over.
The days are long gone where a private seller is listing their car (or their house) at a slightly elevated realistic market price, and buyers get to haggle down from there.
It's been two years of rising tides, and in those periods buyers do not even get the chances, because wholesalers & dealers are acting so fast, with so many incentives to the sellers, and then setting the market prices themselves. They all see the opportunity to make a buck (I don't blame them since they really recognized it first. I surely did not (literally every day last year was a shock to me).
Many of you kept saying it,... I guess I just did not want to believe it could be like this.
.... I need to go for a drive.... bang out some gear changes,... and get my mojo back
I did this yesterday steve. Certainly banged out some gear changes hahah. I forgot how hard a gearbox this thing has. I didn’t quite get it into third nicely on one of my shifts. But then I got one oh so perfect at like 7.5k revs and it was sublime. U gotta be so deliberate going from gear to gear in the high revs with this car lol.
hard to say. Could have been driven hard early on? If so, I’d want to see the dme report, service records, paint etc. that’s stuff I’d want to see for every Gt3 but more so if there are concerns regarding stories on this car.
The DME had quite a few range 3-4 ignitions at just over 200 hours. Car has 500 total hours and clutch was replaced at around 220 hours based on the cars overall average speed. Seems like it has been driven pretty hard over its life and the owner admits that he has tracked it.

Id say if knowing it has range 2-4 bugs someone it will always hang in the back of their mind… in that case stay away. But in a practical sense I seriously doubt there is much to worry about given they were over 10,000 miles ago.
Not a particularly high msrp but looks to be in good cosmetic shape. He’s got the decals in a box… that’s worth $1k Steering wheel is in such good shape it makes me think he must have redone it… but seats also look good.

True. Given the early history of the car I don’t think it would appeal much to the collector crowd (even though it doesn’t make a ton of difference mechanically as that was a long time ago) and thus it won’t go for totally crazy money. But just given the early history before the clutch replacement @ 8754 miles (221 hours) it seems like the car was driven very hard and not very well at times based on all the ranges 3-4 ignitions @ 207 hours (ranges 1-2 don’t matter at all). Won’t make a ton of difference mechanically now as that was a long time ago, but just something to note. Overall, I think this would make a good driver or example for someone who would like to keep doing track days.
Also don’t think having the highest MSRP is always the best thing as some of the options on these cars are not always positives such as the FAL and the CF interior trim to name a couple. The FAL malfunctions and sometimes fails (doesn’t always save you from scraping) and the CF trim commonly warps, cracks, and delaminates.

seems a little early. it is common these clutches don't last very long, but <10K seems on the lower end. I had the clutch replaced on my .2RS at ~18K--probably didnt need it at the time but made me feel better since this was a long term keeper for me.

Agreed this is a car I would have looked at since I bought one to occasionally track and eventually put a 4.2 in. But my guess is the more years that go by a 4.2 conversion will actually reduce the value of a low mileage RS even though it’s $70k and a full refresh (could be true today even)
Im not sure what it will go for but I’m guessing this one probably has 5-10k miles it in without reducing its resell value, not something most of us can say.
What I’m really curious about is that most of the dealer examples for sale for the last 3 months have been grey… does white have a premium I wonder?
Hallelujah brother. After some serious thought, I'm most likely sticking with my .2 GT3 and not as actively looking for a white/gold .2 RS.
I agree with you… if your not collecting, leveraging the track goodies or didn’t get in “early” the premium of an RS is low for me. Don’t get me wrong I love being the “only one” with something cool, but we all know that wears over time.
In my case I bought something cool I can track worry free... ohh and the wife wont let me without a cage and Hans... though she still lets me eat donuts and hamburgers which i told her was statistically more dangerous
