it's in Canuckistan so not the easiest to re-import to SoCal. $310K is laughable, obviously.

It's probably worth low to mid $200K realistically to a U.S. buyer that isn't 2/3 of the way filling up his/her drool bucket thinking it's #iNv3sTmEnTTgrade, Br0 - IT WILL ONLY GO UP!!!!

The last closest comp was a pcarmarket listing 2 weeks ago that hammered at $251K+fees($5K). 8k mile car, similar spec, in the U.S. There is a lot of noise in the GT market now (dealer to dealer shuffling inventory amongst themselves is rampant), and cars are starting to sit longer. good luck if you go after it!

Anyone have any anecdotal evidence or comps on Basalt? I was surprised to see how relatively rare it was. Wondering if it does better than plain 'ol black, which seems not to be as sought after.

Doesn't matter what version of black it is, unfortunately it fits into the same camp of not being as sough after. Black/silvers seem to be bottom of the totem pole in terms of value for the 997 GT3's.

i think GT silver is actually quite desirable. what is your analysis based on? black seems to be a bit softer, although i don't think it makes a huge enough difference to stress out over ... it's all about who's looking to buy when a particular set of cars are for sale. luck of the draw, in my opinion.

It's pretty easy to see from BaT and other listings what colors command premiums. White/Yellow > Red > Silvers > Blacks out of the "standard" colors on the GT3's that are most desirable. Not trying to offend anyone with a black/silver car but that's how the market is.

Yeah. GT Silver is epic in person. I'm not selling, and I love my Basalt, so no worries either way. Just curious. Here's a fun GT + Basalt shot for kicks.

BaT ... again, i see it more as how many droolers are "in the room" vs. color necessarily. either way ... i'll defer to you more observant folks on these color matters!

Default GT3/RS

Why is there so much animosity towards these cars going up in value? Doesn’t the values of the GT cars trickle down and raise the values of rest of the 997 models? I would think everyone would want these cars values to go through the moon. Am I missing something?

I think it’s because for some people, we actually like to drive these cars and with them going up in value, it’s hard to put the miles on them knowing you’re gonna depreciate the value by doing so. If you have a sub 10k mile car, gonna be very hard. If you have more of a drivers car though then no big deal.

another thought is because now there is a much higher barrier of entry to get one of these. A lot of car enthusiasts out there are now priced out and that sucks. Maybe if income went up proportionally with prices this wouldn’t be a big deal but inflation has had a large effect.

never really thought of animosity as the word to describe it though. But I’m also more out of the loop these days after I found my car.

Saw this on Insta, looks like a beautiful example.
I still prefer 997.1 GT3 and RS design over .2

I think for many it's because conversations turn from "what car suits me best" to "what car can I make the most money on". Some are less excited to drive when values go up. I look at it the opposite, more it goes up, the more I want to put miles on it. I will say though that the higher the value goes the more nervous you generally get to park it places due to fear of damage. People care more about repaints on 997 GT3's than E92 M3's or 987.2 Boxster's, I'm guessing due to the value of them.
