The 997 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...
Yes - i am local to this car and coincidentally drove past the dealership a couple of weekends ago so I figured I'd stop in to check it out. First impression was that the car looks terrible. It's got its 15yr old clear bra on the entire front end (fenders, hood, bumper) that has yellowed severely. There is fairly heavy wear on the interior, particularly the driver's seat and steering wheel. The car has definitely been tracked. Paint looks OK but is not pristine, however it looks all original. Overall the car looks well used, certainly not a pampered example. The main concern would be that removing the old clear bra could pull chunks of paint off, given it's been on there for so long. Something tells me the dealership has the same concern, which is why they haven't done it when prepping the car for sale.
Even in this crazy market, this car is probably worth $125K-$130K max, IMO. I haven't driven it so can't comment on mechanicals. hope this helps!

I bought the car as they were willing to work with me on pricing. They also agreed to repair some of the aforementioned interior bits (on order now). Detailer friend inspected the car and rated it very highly on paint (nothing but light scratches in clear coat) and the clear bra removed without issue. It is being paint corrected and ceramic coated now.
Car had major service performed including plugs and belts, new pads, new rotors, new tires, new TPMS, AC recharge, etc. performed and they tossed in a limited warranty. I also have verified the car already had the coolant line fix from Sharkwerks.
Overall quite happy with what I paid and looking forward to miles in my first GT car.

Sounds like even with ~ $8k worth of improvements you'll spend to make it right for you,... and a less than $150k buy-in,... you're sitting pretty to enjoy the car!
Especially since you've been enjoying your 993 & 991 for years already,... and If you decide to drive the snot out of this GT3 for years to come, a price cannot be put on those smiles,... AND I'm willing to bet you'll still end up on the right side of the money equation years from now. win win.

Congrats!! ... & assuming the DME report still looks the same, those 28 range 1 ignitions were now over 9k miles ago & irrelevant. Good to go there too (if so).

Here is a walk around video of the car as I felt like the condition expressed above was greatly exaggerated: YouTube

I’m glad you bought it. You were the smart one to take advantage of a good car. The Porsche community have lots of pre-madonnas that love to exaggerate things. These cars are built like tanks and most anything can be fixed or restored to new. You did great. Enjoy with much health.

900-mile Carrara White RS 4.0. PCCB and full leather. Priced at $900k. Pretty close to how I would spec a 4.0 if I had the opportunity.
