Big off @ WSIR, slid hard / fast enough that broke the beads on all 4 tyres.
refreshingly honest IMO.

I agree wheels is the easiest thing to change on car. I wonder what the market is for a 997.1 GT3 with the 3.9 build? 997.1s are trading around 100. I am wondering if the 3.9 will push it into 110s? Its already bid up to 85. If it stays closer to the 100 mark maybe that's sign that collectiblility is the most important aspect of the 977 GT3 market? I know doug says 1 car doesn't make the market but just some interesting thoughts. In my mind the 3.9 adds a ton of value to the car. As someone who would drive.

I hope that collectibility isn't the most important aspect, but it may be. My take is condition should be the most important aspect. With condition, I think comes originality in many cases, or if there are modifications, that they're OEM+. Sharkwerks exhaust for instance. Some may want a fully stock engine car. But I think most would look at a center muffler bypass, bucket seats (even if it didn't originally come with them) as welcomed upgrades.
Always great when a seller discloses all information. I give them a lot of credit for doing so.

$115k should be a good number for these. These are bullet proof builds. Maybe, some day I will have this SW kit in mine. Yup

I also think that a white car would pull a little more than a silver. Not that it's a better color, it's just that more peeps seem to like either the skittle colors or a nice white.

the car looks awesome and if i was in the market the wheels wouldnt stop me. but the wheels make the car or they break the car and id bet that those wheels hurt the price if not just slightly. or maybe the market is so strong no one cares? well see!

I am quoting Mooty, since he knows me. In the past 14 months, I sold 7 cars. Five were very nice GT Porsches (including 3 997GT cars), and I was able to sell them privately to friends and/or locals who became friends. This was a great experience for me, including invaluable advice from Doug and Mooty. Really thank you.
But I also sold 2 other nice but non-Porsches on BAT, where I do not have a network. My BAT experience was also awesome, once I overcame the frenzy of comments. I have to say that both cars sold for 20% more than what I was ready to get rid of them for. It was unbelievable the comments and question that some people ask about things that I did not think anyone would even care about!

I think it's going to hurt the price a wee bit as a set of stockers aren't cheap. Nice car nonetheless

However...pumpkin or no pumpkin it's still essentially the same as the one I was referring to that just sold on BaT for (fees included) $199K. True, it had slightly lower miles but not materially so (8K vs 10K). I used it as an example of my overall confusion and bewilderment at some of the prices cars are bringing on BaT - Porsche and otherwise. Over the past year or so, I've seen many cars that have sold for what seems to be completely bonkers prices. Some are deserving, but others just leave me confused. Like this RS I mentioned: If an interested party decided they were exclusively looking for a low mile .1 RS and did the normal car search diligence, it would seem that they're out there and can likely be had for slightly less than BaT.
I really wonder if what we're seeing is the proliferation of brand-new car collectors/enthusiasts who've never really been interested in following the car market the way many of us here have for years. Now suddenly, there's this central clearinghouse where you can find any dream car imaginable, whether it's that 5 year old Ferrari that you talked your wife into letting you buy for your 60th birthday after time-served in the minivan hauling kids around or looking for the replacement Mustang like the one you sold after college when you had to grow up. For those people, it's no longer inconvenient to search multiple ways to find something to buy and that convenience boosts demand/competition. The "amazon prime" effect for collector car buying. Click, click, SOLD! Hell, BaT is even offering to handle shipping logistics now! You literally don't even need to get off the couch to have the car of your dreams show up in your driveway.
Thoughts?

Yes, that was the car I was referring to. Honesty didn't want to post it at first as I was very seriously considering a purchase. I didn't realize it had paint work, and apologies for misusing the "Pumpkin" term. I'm only recently educating myself on the .1 RS variants, so I thought orange/black, regardless of which was dominant, was called a Pumpkin.

My wife and I searched for an E350 wagon for a year before landing on the right one. I watched every one go through BaT and laughed/cried at the results. We bought one private party for about 20% less, and I passed on one at $26k that was snapped up by a dealer and listed the next week on BaT - sold for $35k. Arbitrage baby!
