if you go a few pages back I posted it and a few guys thought I bought it cause the listing was gone. So I called to see if the car sold and they said, they removed the listing cause the car had to get paintwork done.( not sure what got done as they never told me) I was interested in the car but with paint work, it was a turn off for me.

There’s this one which is pretty comparable. $10k more, but very similar. Formerly owned by another rennlist user.

Thanks for that. I see you have a 2011. I have a 2012 GTS and I'm concerned a 997.1 GT3 RS won't feel that much more visceral. I'm trying to get a read on the real difference 997.1 and 997.2 RS perhaps from those intimate with both.

I went from a 997.2 C2S with PSE and SPASM. Sold and went to a 997.1 GT3. Car is very different in the feel. One of my main issues with the C2S was how usable it felt and how easy it was to drive, granted, I had a PDK car, but overall the car did not give me the same special feeling that the GT3 does. I have not driven a 997.2RS, but from my understanding, the .1RS is a bit more visceral than the .2RS from a chassis/suspension perspective, granted the .2RS is going to have more power and better gearing. Would rather let someone that has driven both comment.

For what its worth, back in August I drove a .2 GT3 RS / .1 GT3 with LWFW back to back... I thought the .1 GT3 was much much more exciting to drive to vs the .2 RS. and felt more much "Raw". I was super surprised at how different they felt, the .1 GT3 felt a little more Punk Rock and the .2 RS a little more Ivy League.

I wouldn't consider any type Carrera at this point - has to be a GT car, especially the 997 platform. Sorry, this may not be of much help but the GT3s are simply awesome cars and the Mezger speaks for itself
@RapidGT thanks for posting that article - good read!

push harder and 997.2 RS comes really alive.

Have driven a .1 RS, but that was 10 years ago. With the .2 RS’s, they shortened the gear ratio’s which makes a big difference IMO over the .2 GT3. I believe the .2 GT3 and .1 RS have the same gear ratios. The single mass flywheel in the .2 RS seems a little lighter than the one I remembered in the .1 RS, but I drove them several years apart so might be wrong about that. Magazines I have read talk about the more refined aero on the .2 RS. But on the street, you may not even notice the difference. Both two great cars nonetheless. Here’s something you could look at.
Thank yo u so much for posting.

Thanks for the article. Bad ***. Looks like in essence the .2 handles better and is not as likely to bust loose the rear end, but then that is part of the fun, isn' it? I don't know what to say about the car at Philips. There is a chip on the bottom he the front spoiler, and they state the car is 100% original paint and that they have metered it. They had no records there, and all they know of service is what is listed on Carfax. I have a call into the last service center to see what they know.
