169k plus 7.5k in BAT fee = 176k for a car with uncertainty on damage is a pretty strong result IMO. The prior 196k sale (plus 5k fee at the time) was incredibly strong for a .1

I agree with you pretty solid. In the long term the 997 will continue to increase in value.

They won’t go up forever.

Collector grade cars may fetch a premium, but that BaT no sale was rough. Weird carbon pieces and didn’t have the original stuff. Odd damage that was “repaired” except for the damage behind the puncture on the plastic panel.

Why pay $180kish, when there are some .2 GT3s out there for $200?

I had been checking auto trader frequently, saw it late at night, and then called first thing when they opened the next morning. I didn't have much hope because I figured it was pre sold and just auto populated on their system due to the stock pictures, but was very happy to hear that it was real and available. I don't know if I was necessarily the first to inquire, but I was the first to send them money that morning. It was also at a Porsche store, they are connected to an Audi store under the same name.

Strong for a car with damage for sure. But I still see it as an a no sale at $169K as no BAT fee was baked in since it didn't sell. To each their own but I dont really see this car being worth more than the RNM price.

Given the kind of buyers that pay the premium for an ultra low mileage car, I'm not really surprised it RNM'd. The sub 10k mileage crowd usually puts a high premium on no stories, no paintwork, fully original, etc. If this car was a 60k mile driver, I don't think it would have had a significant impact on price and there have been enough low mileage cars on BaT in the past 6 months or so that I could understand waiting for the next one to come around.

Yeah I guess my idea is that someone was willing to pay 176K all-in, even if the seller wasn't going to accept it. So that's the best the market can do for it

appreciate the offer! feel pretty good about their representation of the condition of the car, just not the price. Made them (what I think is) a reasonable offer today, will see how they play it. They seemed fairly confident it would sell at their list price. Good to know they're reputable

From seller's message, a deal was quickly made after RNM to meet reserve, so even better results for both sides without the BAT fee. To me still a pretty strong result for a .1 given the uncertainties

Good guys and good store. They get a lot of special cars and seem to move them with ‘markets asks’.

Good luck!

It was a hard car to figure out, the suspension looked essentially new but whatever road or track it was driven on was terrible, makes me think that the suspension was taken off early and put back on later.

The front pan where that puncture was is actually pretty easy to access from the inside, unlike the other side of that pan where the cup car keeps the goodies it had nothing to really hurt other than the foam tool case.

But the fix just wasn’t worthy, the color match was off, the terroson seam sealant isn’t painted and either is the center so that could have been taped off while they contour and smooth matched the other side…
