That said, I drive it all the time (bought it with 14k on the clock, now approaching 21k) but continue to use my 993 for track duty. Now that 993 prices are starting to get out of control, I feel like I need a third track car to keep my other two track cars safe
Same. Bought in December 2012 for under 90k. I intended to track the car, but chose not to. Not for resale value but because if I had to write it off, there is no way I could afford to get back into another RS with as high as prices have gone. For now my evo does fine on track and eventually plan to replace it with a s2000 or e92 M3 for track dury.

That looks like a great car tasman. Nice you'll be driving her back. Great way to get introduced to one another. Let me know if you need to give the blue bomber a rest on the way back (I'm in Milwaukee). I'll provide you with plenty of club soda and saltines to keep your strength up

Do those exist still??? A GT3 has been in my sites as a 'someday' car for the past dozen years. Now I'm in what I thought was the financial position to buy one and the market is pushing them out of my reach. I feel like Leonardo DiCaprio's character in Titanic after that Rose chick lets him sink to the bottom of the sea.

I'm resigning myself to putting the dream on hold. Perhaps a GT4? Oh, wait...

can someone offer generalized opinion re pricing of 997.1 vs. 997.2 gt3rs pricing....based on a percentage of msrp, have the first gen cars appreciated more, about the same as gen 2 or less appreciation. On the first gen cars, is green highly sought after, pumpkin, not so much?

msrp vs today price. appreciation and ROI are boring.
i only care about what it takes to buy one today
green under 5000 miles are 225+
green <10000 are 180 EASILY
orange < 5000 170
ornge < 15000 150-160
not guesses, i saw the money exchanging hands.

Crazy prices. The RS syndrome is a pandemic among the 1%.

I'm looking at clean but 20-25K mile examples, basically drivers, so i don't feel like I'm taking a huge hit in depreciation if I put miles on them. Hopefully be able to find one under 120.

There's the white one on ebay for 117 but the dme is not the best

It's been listed over and over on ebay so I'd bet the seller would be flexible for a quick easy sale

Not RS but just checked autotrader. I may have to eat my words. Cheapest 997 GT3 in all the US is 92K. That's just normal 07/08 non RS GT3. There's a 17K mile 08 GT3 asking 119K and a 07 4K mile asking 130K, crazy.
