This is me. I bought my RS in November 2013 for under $100k with the intention of tracking it. Given the price increase over my ownership period, I've decided I'm not comfortable taking it to the track as eating six figures would be a very big deal for me. That said, I drive it all the time (bought it with 14k on the clock, now approaching 21k) but continue to use my 993 for track duty. Now that 993 prices are starting to get out of control, I feel like I need a third track car to keep my other two track cars safe
You are honest and part of the new normal. Most ppl I know who say they will track 991 RS I know really won't because of price appreciation (+ve equity in a car). Few track 7.2/7.1 RS too unless high mileage and seen enough track time already. Fewer and fewer RS where they belong sadly, but can understand.
Big difference between track cars and high mileage DD versus bubble wrap/clean/low mileage cars. These are distinctly separate markets; transaction prices reflect this as well.

Should there be a hood sticker under the bonnet showing the cars VIN and option codes on an 07 GT3 RS? It's the same sticker that is glued into the maintenance book. Maybe this practice was discontinued in 2006... All my earlier cars, including 04 GT3 had/has one. Thanks.

No chance. There's a 997 GT2 somewhere with your name on it. Sadly, it comes with a divorce attorney in the passenger seat
