Agree 1000%. These cars are meant to be driven. Some extra miles and track time isn't going to hurt the value much at all; there are just not too many of these around. Even if a car has more miles, track use and worth 20% less you are still way head from where you started. Plus rather it sitting in the garage and dream what it would be like to drive it you got to beat the living **** out of it. Smiles ear to ear is worth more than an extra 30k. Drive it and add some patina.

997.1RS is a good value when compared to the air cooled market.

Default 2011 RS

I've been watching GT3's & Rs's for past 18 mo. Watching & reading all the 991 RS hype. Now we all know very few fortunate affectianados will enjoy the exhilaration of owning a new 991 RS ( at least for now).
I've driven several 991 GT3's. Truly a thrilling car. Technology really keeps getting better & better,
Local Porsche dealer said "it's like playing a video game". Not sure if I agree, but certainly would miss the involvement of manual shift if I purchased PDK.
I'm ready to step up! Looking at 2011 white RS 14K miles. pretty much loaded up w. CCB, etc. 2 owners, excellent condition & minimal track time ( so I'm told).
NO BUCKETS!! Not planning to track. My weekend driver.
Is this car worth $185K ?????

^^ sure why not but I'd be bored to tears driving an rs around south Florida and not on a track.

I drive manual. I drive manual with my espresso machines too. Mine is 7 years old, used daily, works perfectly, 100% hand made in U.S. By an insane Italian craftsman. I use the below. I use a mazzer mini e grinder. Beans are intelligentsia, vivace, blue bottle, or stumptown.

Like my cars wife won't go near it lol. But she likes the coffee it makes.

Thanks Mooty !
Concerned about mileage being almost 15K. If try to resell in 1-2 years putting on 2K/ yr. will be hard to sell.

You are not buying a garage queen at 15 k miles. Drive the damn car.

Better yet. Don't buy it. Save the car for someone who doesn't classify it as an investment asset.

Will be hard to sell?
Why is that?
Oh you mean, hard to sell [at more than you paid for it].

Won't be hard to sell, but no one knows if it will be worth $130k or $230k. Go for it. Life is to short to miss out owning a 997rs.

I bought my RS with 14500k miles. I now have 50k miles and i have been offered more then what i paid. But it is not for sale. I will continue to drive it as they are not building anymore like this.
Once you are in, your are in for the long haul.

Drive it (on track) or not, your money, your time.
If you enjoy it as art you may still take a bath when the bottom falls out..

Most here will take it as a risky asset but at least enjoy it as intended.
My 991 automatic has 500 miles on it and value is plummeting..

Seriously. Drive the freakn car. There are far better investments out there. I bought mine a year ago paid 116k with 10k miles. It now has 13000 and I'm looking to add many more over many years to come. Problem is too many other cars I can't seem to get enough time in it. Even and 25000 miles in 10 years from now I don't see it being an issue at all.
