I think the sunroof skin is 25lbs, the rest is tracks, motors, and all the other related parts. The factory solid roof, headliner, and foam weigh very little.

Andrew,

it is not worth to strip or vandalize your street car. If you really want a dedicated racer - just get one, a cup or koni-like fully prepped car, 996 or 997, with properly built full cage, fire bottle, fuel cell, properly lowered suspension, shell seats, window nets, etc.
it is simpler and cheaper in the end than try to serve 2 gods at once, and is much safer than to drive inthe compromised street car which is not safe anymore.

Weight difference between a OEM roof ( the skin ) without sunroof compared to a carbonfiber roof is 11 lbs and deleting the inner liner ( Alcantara ) is another 4 lbs. In total 15 lbs at the highest point.

Where did you get those measurements?

What are the actual weights of the OEM (non sunroof) roof panel and the carbon fiber panel?

Not doing anything to the car that will compromise safety.

This claim seems a bit much.

Champion stripped my interior to the tub, removing all sound deadening material and weighed it. Total was 20 lbs. Placed the OEM carpet alone back with 2 sided tape to make it look finished.

Juan sorry I missed you Saturday, but had to work.

I think 4.0 RS is lighter, not sure if lighter then 3.8 RS.
Anyway, I am putiing all interior and carpetr back in, way too noisy and not the good kind of noisy to me.

The numbers are correct for a 997. I have their carpet kit for the 6.
Before that I had the oem carpets with removed insulation. Not great fitting since the carpet becomes loose and the hollow space can't be pushed back to the metal leaving gaps.

This is much lighter / thinner and they are also removing the center console and rear side covers completely further increasing the weight savings.

Which numbers are correct? The 20 pounds or the 38?
