Turn 5 impact, right?

Will there be GT3 DE Cup representatives at CHIN Road Atlanta this weekend? If so I may drive up there and spectate on Saturday, provided CHIN will let me.

All the more reason for me to drive alert and within my own predefined limits.

I'm with ya Nick...same hear...!

Yes I'm trying to always improve my driving and which times might improve but what I work on is consistency and knowing my limits. However most of all I do DE just to have fun and hang with my friends and drive my car home after the day. I also try hard to make sure I'm a great instructor and inspire, corrupt my student so that they fall deep into this hobby too,

no, he was in his ZR1, not in the Z06. Z06 had it all, a proper seat, nets and a cage. ZR1 was a 'street' car and that is how his head hit a door or pillar, whatever it was.

he was wearing HANS but for a side impact with no containment seat it is useless.

means nothing if you`ll come off in esses at 115mph on somebody else`s coolant.

Yep

The Dawg, The Geek, IZZONE, Red Bear will be there. Come find us and for a $20 you can probably get a ride or 2 IF you are really really brave.

That can, and does, happen on public roads too. Maybe not the 115mph part (at least not me), but the other part. FYI I am not disparaging the poor guy who lost his life at RA, **** happens and when it's your time, there's little you can do. RIP.

I called CHIN and asked - it's on. I'll be there Saturday hopefully, with a wallet full of $20s.

I checked the roster on the website - many of the familiar names. I'll recognize many of the cars I'm sure, and I'll introduce myself if I have a chance.

Hopeful to get into a 997.1 GT3 early next year. I'm also very interested in hearing various exhaust setups IRL - my 993 sounds pretty good now, so I'd like something that similarly complements the watercooled GT3.

I think we can all agree that DE is probably more safe than the general street environment, but at the same time, due to the nature of the beast we have to be more vigilant about our car's condition and whether they are suitable for such use because the penalty for an incident is much higher. Sometimes, as others have shown, we just have to accept it is out of our control, but in any case we should be proactive in reducing the chance of incidents. Fixing coolant pipes and any other known danger to others and self, "nutting and bolting" the car, maintenance bordering on the obsessive/compulsive should reduce the problem, and making sure your fellow DE participants know that if they don't do due diligence they are creating a hazard, not only for themselves, but for others.

DE is fun for me. If I wanted to go racing I would be in my karts. Totally different vibe and intent. I can leave 10, 15mph on the table in a DE, no big shakes to me.

Don't know.
Fenders steel, hood aluminum, both available in CF OEM or CUP.

I'm starting to have irrational lightweight fantasies more and more often.
If I had a lot of money I didn't need it would be fun to see how light it could go w/o stripping out the AC or interior
