Default Who's got links to lightweight parts?

I'm barreling headfirst down a slippery slope. Took about 100 pounds and it felt like a different car.

Now I've become obsessed with making the car lighter.

Been poking around online and haven't found much in the way of lightweight parts like inside door panels etc... All I can find is links to batteries and such.

Sunroof is coming out next. Suggestions on anything else?

Already have carbon RSR wing, braille lithium battery, gutted trunk, and side muffler delete exhaust.

It's already miserable now. Might as well go full monty. 2800 pounds or bust. Ear plugs are cheap. My wife has hundreds on the nightstand due to my snoring. I'm sure your wife can relate to my wife's plight.

you want to shave/remove the foam insulation from the carpet. (the white thick underlayer of the carpet.)
this way you still have interior and look streetable.

remove airbag steering wheel in favour of Cup car steering wheel.

you can also remove the headlight washer system if so equipped.

rear window can be replaced with euro light weight rear window.

Cup doors would be the biggest savings, although they do not have locks etc, so not great for street.
(im not sure how much the manthey doors shave off, but they are streetable and perhaps worth a look?)

What seats do you have?

My RS weight in race trim is under 2900 pounds compred to 3160 street trim...
In race trim it makes me forget about getting a 996 Cup....

I think front cage adds, 40lb? Cup doors will shave over 40 kg though. Lighter car is fathers and easier on breaks, and gets out if the hole quicker too. Gavin's car as is with the new engine is a monster.

It works, just no door brace on the .1 CS cage.
.2 CS cage has somewhat of a door bar however.

That looks dangerous. I don't think I'd run carbon doors without a cross bar on the cage. If you get t-boned on the track (or street) you're done.

Not only done, but toast
it is ballsy.... about as bad as something out of the 1960's..... but super light and easy entry and exit.... (not as dangerous as my FFR cobra however....)
Next time i put my car in race trim with these doors i will most likely add the .2 CS door bar which is still not that great, but for mostly D.E im confident.

For lightweight door skins and inner door panels check out Manthey. The weight saving with the outer skin isn't worth it for the $ but the inner panels are. This setup retains the stock locks, windows, etc.
