No it doesn't the roof sheet metal is not a structural part of the car.

CF roof vs oem steel skin isn't that much difference. i held both in my hands, i like steel.

the cage is modeled after cup but has more head clearance. those who saw it in person know what i mean.

Seems like you are about to dump a bunch of money in a hole, consider who's writing this.

I just would buy a ready to go (street legal) race ready car before I would part out and make a perfectly fine 997 undriveable on the street. Legal or not. Or buy a used truck and trailer.

Me thinks between instant depreciation and lightweight upgrade costs you can have a a lightweight stripper from someone who already prepped a car for less you can sell your car for.
pls, do not stand in the way of USA economic recovery. he needs CF everything. and i hear boron composite is great for wheels and engine cases.

Agreed. I think the weight diff between the carbon and the OEM is 2 pounds. Not worth triple the price for such a small weight savings.

Is the OEM roof aluminum or steel?


GMG says carbon roof is 45 pounds savings with sunroof, 25 pounds without. Not sure how they come up with a 25 pound savings on a non sunroof car by replacing the skin.
