i like 888's. i used to run them 32/33 hot. start at 28 cold.
now they are street tyres. 1.5 years and still good in all weathers ( just some caution in the wet though)

I wonder if it because the Hoosiers are moving on the rims, messing up the computer? Because they generate more grip, I have seen numerous cases of Hoosiers moving on rims. Had a client last weekend where rears moved nearly 180 degrees and fronts 90 degrees. Tire mounters used soap, which is more common than you think.

They are much mor eprone to punctures via some object that regular street tires would just laugh at, because they are so thin. I'd avoid it.

I am a self-proclaimed expert on ice mode from my Lotus Elise days as well as the GT3. In the Lotus, the combination of sticky tires, stiff suspension and track pads caused highly dramatic ice mode which wouldn't abate and scared the crap out of you. What I have experienced in the GT3 is much less severe. The pedal is high and hard but there is still some feel and decent retardive force. Worn BF Goodrich R1s caused it repeatedly, and switching to new Hoosiers cured it immediately. In the Porsche, the pedal will eventually drop. In the Lotus, it felt just like pushing on a brick.

Toyo's just as much and that is on BBS, I assume mounted like the mount slicks on race cars. I always mark the tires.

BTW, never had ice mode with Toyo's or Hoosiers, just over ABS-ing once in a while.

I drove 130 miles each way on Hoosier on my Gallardo. On the way back I got a storm, and drove sideways thru 2 lanes for 30 miles... scary, but fun !

Again, its a base gt3, not RS. I agree that MPSC is not the best, they annoy me, but they are dramatically cheaper than Corsa's, Trofeos are just stupid, and at this moment I still consider R6 to be out of reach.

Incidentally, woudl R6 survive a 10 mile drive to the track? We don't get rain and likelihood of getting pulled over for tires is zero over here.
