First things first, I think the car in your signature is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Been admiring it for a long time.

So far as lap times go, I am not one of the resident hot shoes at Sebring. My fastest a 2:23, I run consistent 2:25's with 4-5 2:24's thrown in on a normal track day. My last lap on this set of tires was a 2:32, so yes they did fall off significantly, but I knew they were because they were all over the place on this lap.

Peter, what is funny about this is that I wasn't even using them for the first 6-7 sessions, they were on my GT2RS being run around Road Atlanta by Chris Harris, Gavin, and his friend Barry. They are the really fast guys, in a much more powerful car. I'll keep plugging away though....

Wow Paul 40 hc's I'd switch to R6 and beg my neighbor to bring them to the track for me. Also a 2:23 is awesome...keep at it you have the right attitude for sure. I'm no where in the gt3de cup league....GTS with pro drive is good for high 26-27's...I'm at 28-30 myself....I'm not liking the stock size MPSC especially the skinny 235's up front

So, does anyone have experience running R6's on a 997.2 GT3 NB with 19" wheels? If so, what size fronts and rears are you running? Really interested in the tire, but, am worried about clearance, especially with the rears as Hoosier doesn't offer a 305/30/19 rear...

19”- 235/35-19 F, 295/30-19 R keeps a 997 pretty neutral in handling with 2 psi lower in front than rear (34F/36R hot for example). 18" 245/35-18 front, 315/30-18 is better if you pop for wheels - you won't want to go back after experiencing the extra grip. You will be very happy with the 19" set up until you try the 18" at some point. I ran the 19' setup 1 year before moving to 18" - loved the 19" setup until I drove the 18"s...

So Toyo is making new RA1's in 335's? If they are older 335's that's fine but soon they will be gone and what scares me is I'll have 18" wheels with nothing that fits, beside Hoosier...no?
i see 335 RA1 popping up from time to time on sale but they all are from 2007 i think.

335 RA1 in rear wants 275 NT01 in front or 275 RA1, if you'll find it.

So, the 315's won't work in the rear? I had heard that the R6's ran wide... 18's aren't an option at this point. Too much money invested in 19" track wheels.

315 should be fine don't recall that being offerred in 19 when I ran 19. May understeer a bit on corner exit with the extra rear rubber - if so tweak sways or add 1 psi to rear and should help balance it out.

I still don't see how its possible....

I've been through 3 sets now. 20 HC's tops. They were ****e after 16 and got very slow. I flip them routinely and run them at fairly low pressures. The last set I ran at the recommended 30 hot and still didn't get any more life out of them, but they did feel better.

I can only assume its the super secret suspension that you and Gavin run. No one else gets that many HC's out of their hoosiers. Wear bars aside, chemically, they just die. I don't know how you guys get past that with all the heating and cooling. I have yet to actually cord a set of hoosiers. They're done long before that happens.

If it is in fact the suspension, the price of those bits would pay for itself in fairly short order. I know Gavin raves about his setup and he's certainly very fast.

Paul, just wait until after our 2 days of Chris Hall, you'll be right up there with the GT3DE guys.

I know everyone bags on R888's and I'm just a newbie at this but I am still running 2:28-29 @ Sebring in my POS C2S with >30 HC's and too much street driving. Seems like a pretty good value.

GT3RS w full akro, sequential, extec suspension, hoosiers, Lord knows what else, and professional instruction should be pulling 218's. If his times don't drop then he should get the official DE CUP poser award. That's of course if Sandro will give it back

Horrible tire. Throw them in the garbage now. They're about to fall off real bad and your day will be shot if you've already got 7 days on them. Been there, done that. Great, great, great and then an unexpected suck, suck, suck. I got into 2:29 in traffic on those street super sports this weekend and our acceleration numbers aren't all that different. For those driving to and from I'd say the SS is a better value. As a matter of fact, I have a set of 18 R888 in my garage with plenty of tread I would be happy to give you just to get them out of my garage.

Until they have traction R888 are a single option for people with 19' rims who do not have trailers and need to drive to a track.
They loose traction when they get to base rubber layer, so, just measure tread depth and when you are 50% in - remove them. Efficiently you'll get out of them similar number of HC like from hoosiers if driven at or above 8/10th.
