Detour did 40+ sessions on his R6's before they got to the cords last weekend at Chin/Sebring. That's what I am talking about!!!!!

On my first ever day at Sebring, I ran skinny Bridgestone RE-11 245/285 on 8" and 10" skinny wheels. On the last session that day I ran 295/345 Hoosier A6 on the fat wheels. All sessions with the traffic in the PBOC Solo (not Super Solo) group with limited passing. This was in my Fiat, a car vastly slower at a racetrack compared to an Aero Beetle.

Times:
RE-11: 2:24.3
A6: 2:22.9

So, in my opinion, if people will buy R6 to run them for 100 heat cycles, despite of them being 20 secs slower than brand new R6, they are better off and safer running a full street tire.

Shaved RA1 are long lasting and fast.

If you're forced to run 19", consider the Hankook RS3, faster than RE-11, and the RE-11 are already faster than the MPSS. These 3 are full street tires, and they are Heat Cycle resistant, in the sense that you will get them to the cords before they are heat cycled out . You can drive on them to the track, rain or shine.

For me, R6 16HC at most. A6 8HC. Slicks 4HC. Running them beyond is fine but slow, and then it gets really slow.

That's what all the magazines in the World say, and I'm sticking to the media experts opinion.

Fun fact, the new VW Beetle 991 S on full street tires is only 1 second slower at the Nurburgring than my Fiat on race compound Corsa System tires. The 991 S in r-comp tires is faster.

So, I will have to get my arm ready to give point-by to the new Beetles too at the DE Cup.

It was probably all that shifting in the RS's. Much easier in regular GT3. lol

So is the 991 that good or the Fiat that bad?

Nurburgring
Aero Beetle 4.0 RS ==> 7.27
Aero Beetle 3.8 RS ==> 7.32
Fiat 458 Italia ==> 7:38
Fiat 430 Scuderia ==> 7:39
Aero Beetle 3.8 ==> 7:40
The New Beetle 991S ==> 7:40 on street tires.

All the Aero Beetles are good, the 991 is faster than a comparable 997, and Fiats are not as good, but not bad at all.

We should have a Platinum DE Cup and a Gold DE Cup at Sebring.

- Platinum DE Cup: street cars under 2:20
- Gold DE Cup: street cars under 2:25
- Cup of Coffee: street cars under 2:30
- Moving Chicane Cup: 85Gold, my Coxster, the pace car, the SuperSolo drivers that swear they are the pace car, the Aero Beetles that always break, 50% of the PCA Club Racers.
