Miata is turbocharged. Boxter is quick with good driver. The TTS record is soft, remember Hoosiers make you faster. Lately in NASA FL TTS has been running around 2:24's. Eddie, Randy, Peter makes a class with winner getting 1 Hoosier per day, 5 in class and 1st and 2nd get a Hoosier. Of course you do have to run the Purple Crack.

Mdrums and Izzone, come on down to NASA. Almost everyone if not everyone in TT/ 4 is very capable and more importantly SAFE. One of the best things we do is have a download meeting after every session. If anything unsafe happens on track, people voice them and that driver is put on notice. It's easy to control people's behavior when you have to face your peers right afterwards. If you don't go to the download, you don't go out on track. It's that easy...
Disagree, multiple dynos of the 2010 GT3 RS around show higher numbers, and 3,400 lbs on race weight (with driver) sounds a little high.

The 2010 GT3 RS bone stock with no options is 3,116 lbs, plus fuel. The car with a driver is well below the 8.7 weight/power ratio limit for TT-S.

Mustang Dyno readings are added a 10% penalty, given that Mustang dynos read low.

Fortunately, NASA keeps it checked by having cars weighed at impound after each timed session, and they have a massive database of dyno sheets submitted nationwide.

402 whp is what the 2007 GT3 was putting down on a dyno with just an ECU tune, a car rated at 415Hp. Most stock 997.2 GT3 RS put 420+ whp.

If 997.2 RS has too much rwhp for TTS then install a restrictor to bring rwhp down to the 8.7 plus applicable multipliers for being over 3200 #'s with driver. Don't over complicate it more than necessary.

Eddie

I am sure you can come up with a appropriate restrictor

I'll dyno my car soon so I can have a baseline for a bone stock car. 405whp for a .1 GT3 sounds really, really healthy. After extensive tests and E85 with a sharky track exhaust and tune we got a little over that on Mike's .1GT3. All the car that I dynoed before were on the 380 range.
A bone stock .2 GT3 non RS were 408whp at the shop, and we did extensive tests with that car, changing air box, filter, headers, exhaust, E85, race gas, all you can imagine. More than 200 passes.
All I can say is that at the end the car was really healthy, like tuned 996TT territory on the streets.

it's clear that those cars make more power on the streets that they make on the dyno. Just like the M5's.
you need back to back real world testing.

No way my basically stock car could compete with a GT3RS in TTS.....if they allowed I'd need a serious shock and sway bar upgrade and more driving talent ...lots more to hit sub 2:24's....heck...even a pro driver could only get 2:26 and that was a hero lap too from my car on R888....add R6's and maybe a high 2:24

It was a 26 Scarab.

I have a 38 Fountain now ...fish boat with outboards but it's fast. Wish I could sell it and downsize though.

Living where I live in Florida you gotta have a boat...I just went overboard. A friend of mine looked at my boat at my dock behind my house and said..." that's a cup car sitting there"! I said yeah don't remind me.

NASA TTS is hp to weight so if you meet the weight with full interior then no need to strip. Now suspension/aero are basically open which can lead to $$$$ if you want to go that way. TTA/TTF can be much less $$$. My TTC M3 has won with Ian driving and is about $14,000 with extra wheels. Still need to do the R&P and upgraded shocks which will bring my cost for the car to $18,000. Brake pads PFC are $425 a set, rotors are $80 front and $45 rear. New Hoosier R6 are around $1000 a set and easily last 3 NASA weekends.
