Mine arrived today. Outstanding customer service in the buying process, very fast turnaround throughout and I am happy with the product. Thanks!

What is the maximum size that the jack plate (the thing your jack pad sits on) can be? I'm concerned that my jack plate will get in the way of your jack pad and stand when I try to lower and remove the jack. What is the maximum width for the jack to fit between the legs of the stand?

Also, are you planning on having any sales? I'm not concerned about color of finish.

Maximum jack plate (saddle) diameter is 5". Max overall jack width is 12". There are some detail photos on the web site under Instructions for varios clearances and dimensions.

will send a PM.

BTW if you have a removable jack saddle (plate) and yours won't work with the stands it is possible to buy a saddle that should work with your jack.

The patent on Jackpoint Jackstands officially issues Today 5/22/12. Email John@jackpoint.us and put "patent-sale" in the subject line.

Are there any RLer's in the Sarasota area that might want to show a visiting European member and enthusiast the local flavor?

Jpoint,

Congratulations on the patent! (And the design, the prototypes, the redesigns, the manufacturing and supplier work, time spent, money spent, the hoops jumped through ... geeesh.) Wishing you all the best. This Bud's for you!

Jimmy

ps: also, thanks for coming up with a much needed and valuable product that is much safer to use than the conventional stands.

Thank you. Any hard core geeks who want to see what a practical product looks like when described to the USPTO can visit http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-P...S=PN/8,181,936

If you want to see images, you may have to download viewers. The US Patent website has some interesting features like a fairly neat photo editing program that can be downloaded free. But overall it has a very nerdland feel.

I saw this setup at NJMP. TeamDrugMoney had it. Fantastic.
So I am being lazy and not reading all the pages in this thread but....
I can barely get my jacks under my 997.2 GT3's (which ares lowered in the rear from stock), so how am I supposed to get that big puck between the jack and the car?

It'll go. The low profile jack pads fit under my lowered 3RS. In the highly unusual situation of them not, you can always drive up on boards. Easy peazy.

PS- I use a Harbor Freight lightweight "race jack" like 90% of my track pals do.

Have you given any thought to making more pads that can be used on different cars. A forum for older Porsches has a thread going on at the moment for the perfect Jack Stand. As someone who is into older Porsches as well as newer ones, I think it would be great to be able to use the same jack stand on both types of cars by just changing the pad.
Just a thought.

As of today - there is an even lower (about 1/2 inch) pad available. As for older Porsches - the current pads will work back as far as 1987. There is also a way to use them on the "square peg" jacking locations - but you need a jack plate (and a solid rocker panel). The new flat pad is designed for a few different purposes. Truth is - I haven't even seen it yet. I'm on my way out to the foundry to see the first castings off the production line.

If you're out somewhere and there's not a stick of wood anywhere - simply put your jack on the factory spot, lift the car 'till the wheel comes off the ground, stick one of the Jackpoint pads (without the pin in it) under the tire, lower the car, now the car should be high enough that you can get the other pad (with the pin in it) under the car. Lift and install the jack stand. With one corner up - the rest will clear. Sometimes simply lifting the car, extending the suspension, and gently letting the car down will give you what you need in a pinch.

There are a few jacks out there with 2.5" pickup heights that work real well if your car is really slammed.
