For now.. I'll experiment with my 997.2 gt3 for one more yr as it is crap load of fun.
Better to just buy a built car at that point..

I live in PA, and am looking to renew my auto insurance in August. Any recommendations on any companies that will cover DE events?
I asked a State Farm agent, and they have said no, however also asked if they could quote me for my regular insurance so it looks like they didn't black list me yet.
I currently have Geico and whilst the policy doesn't mention any exclusion of track usage, they don't have a clause that excludes competition neither so I am waiting for their clarifications.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I, unfortunately, have had the experience of experiencing a track incident. Luckily, I was getting insurance coverage for each event. Indeed, per event the premium is quite expensive, around $800.00 per event, regardless if it's a one, two, or three day event; hence, you get more coverage for more days. Just this past Feb I had a tire delaminate in the front straight at COTA. The tire took out the entire rear quarter panel and the rear end, plus some suspension and the clutch. The insurance covered the damage minus my 10% deductible of the value of the agreed upon value of the car, 120K. The insurance company is Great American of New York. If anyone desires more info please send me a message. The company was prompt and very efficient with no drama what so ever. If and when I get back to participating in DE events this is the company I will look to insure me.

I've been using these guys:
OnTrackInsurance.com
866-638-0505
914-447-6141

The owner is a long-time PCA club racer. Prices are comparable to Lockton, and they do cover 10/10ths events, even in the advanced group, which Lockton does not. Never had a claim, so I could't tell you anything about that.

Dantzig, do you know why Lockton doesn't cover 10/10ths advanced grp?

Maybe because it's open passing WITHOUT a point, but more than likely it's because they run time trials in the advanced group at certain events.

It's the open passing with no point that they run in the advanced group. That's what Lockton told me. As of earlier this year, they did cover 10/10ths events up through intermediate run group.

I don't think that they run time trials - at least not in any of their events that I have been to.

The other thing that I like about OnTrack Insurance is that they are more flexible about coverages for multiple events. Lockton coverage expires after one year, whether you have used all of the events you paid for or not. I think that I can carry over the unused events to next year. My memory is a little vague - you should check on that when you call.

I ran a de last weekend that Lockton covered. It was no point by req'd in the advanced grp(rezoom).

I have used both companies. Both are easy to work with. My memory is bad and I bought a 12 pack from Lockton many months ago but I think it worked out to be a lot cheaper per event through them.

it's a 12mo duration, not calendar year. I use lockton. the prices have gone up a bit annually. Buy 15 packs.

It's good for one year from the purchase date.

Must be nice to have 12 months instead of 7 to get them in.
