Maybe the private track method that Ferrari is more informative. Something would more variety in road surface would be best.
I can't imagine something with more variety than the Nürburgring. Fiorano is flat (save for the little overpass) and smooth.

The ring has more camber changes and bumps than you can shake a stick at.

I agree, camber, elevation and bumps are necessay for chasis tuning, that is why I said ----> "Something would more variety in road surface would be best." <----

As for not being able to imagine it, if they can build a ski hill in Dubai (as modest as it is) , why couldn't they design a track with varied road conditions, a mini Ring?

Weekend afternoons on the Ring are very crowded and madness and mayhem prevail.
Weekday evenings are quieter and often allow for fast laps without encountering much traffic.

If you want shorter gears, you can always fit them. The 'ring replicates real world driving where you need flexibility and high speed. No GT should run out of revs much under 300.

Having seen the GT-R in person at the 'Ring....I still cannot get my head around how such a big car can be so fast
The car just looks its weight for sure. Hell those four 5inch cannons in the back alone mush weigh 75lbs!

Well said, well reasoned and equally well presented.

I'll bet a lot happens in those conference rooms!

I read chasis seems to be very stiff on the GTR.

datax, I assume you know this already, but that picture of the GTR lifting an inside wheel is meaningless from a chassis stiffness perspective. Cars since the 60s are stiff enough to do that with a sizable sway bar.

I'm curious about this car myself, and looking forward to seeing them in the flesh and on tracks.

I don't think so, they were saying in a few places that the V-Spec's main improvement in lap times will probably come from the better tires they're going to fit to it.
