A newbie, here. But one that lurks like a pro. This might be the cheapest 997.1 Targa 4s on the market. But it appears to need some cosmetic work. 120k miles; serviced almost since new at the same dealer; new rear tires since this pic. They want $28,995 "as is." I'm not local, so I haven't seen it in person.
If anybody knows anything about this ride, please let shoot me a note.
Yet another request for a price check. I’m going to put an ad in the Marketplace in the next few weeks for my spotless Meteor Gray 2010 C2S with PDK. As others ave noted here, asking prices are all over the map and I want to set a price that’s reasonable. Here are the particulars;
2010 Carrera S with PDK. Meteor gray with a little less than 30K. I’ve owned it about four and a half years and it has been trouble and accident free. All oil changes are done with Motul 5-40. Plugs recently replaced. Never tracked other than one DE. Options are;
022 Instrument Dials in Black
250 PDK
404 19” Turbo Wheels
603 Dynamic Cornering Lights
619 Bluetooth Phone Interface
640 Sport Chrono Package Plus
672 Navigation Module for PCM
680 Bose High End Sound Package
686 XM Radio
810 Floor Mats in Interior Color
844 Multifunction Steering Wheel - Leather
870 Universal Audio Interface
9Q Meteor Gray Metallic
AT Black Full Leather
P01 Adaptive Sport Seats
P17 PASM Sport Suspension Package
XES Illuminated Door Sill Guard
XSC Porsche Crest in Headrest
XUV Carrera Logo Storage Bin Lid
XXB Outer Door sill guards
Also has a Gundo hack and Sharkwerks center muffler bypass.
So what say ye? What kind of price should it bring?

Really nice build! No idea, my thoughts are close to 60k though. You have the enthusiast options which bring great resale. PDK is not that desirable, so while you may get the same price as a manual, it will wait for a long time to find a home unless priced aggressively. Don't list it much above $60k. The PDK with the X51 that Overton had listed for $70-ish (and probably worth about that) is still for sale. I would say if you want a relatively fast sale, mid 50's is very fair. A guy in the club here just sold a 16,000 mile C2S in white, manual 997.2 for $56,000. but it was missing adaptive sport seats/SPASM/Turbo wheels. The other options you have listed were on his car. Those things have to add at least $2500 to the asking price, ends up being a wash compared to the higher mileage on your car. He perhaps could have gotten more, but there is something to be said for a no-hassle, no-effort sale.
If the car is ending up at Carnax, take a very close look at it. Dealers I know right now are not letting solid, a lot and all of the country, are not passing up good quality 997s. They need inventory and these cars are hot right now. Turbos may be a little slower due to costs, but if it's clear, not just CarFax clean, they won't let it walk away.
i personally would not touch anything Carnax has with a PPI done by a dealership or someone really up on Porsches. . . . And then there's this Autocheck thing. I know lots that used to use those for a reason and the reason was not very noble.
Interesting. My local dealer just passed on a super clean, one owner 997.2 base, manual with 29,000 miles. A friend wanted to consign it there, they said no thanks! I told him that wasn't typical and to try another dealer. They must not like making "only" 8% commission there. They would rather buy the car for peanuts and mark it up $12,000.

Some dealers may not do or like consignment and then you get into how much he wanted for car, what was lowest number and etc. Lol, at marking up a 997.2 base $12,000. No one makes $12,000 front end off a $50,000 car..
hey KLS... for your reference... I bought a 2009 997.2S cab with 18k miles and pretty much the options you list, pdk, chrono, ... in excellent condition... paid 54k for it about 5 months ago... so I would expect your car to be between that and 58k... cheers

The local dealer does, due to living out here on an "island" This same place I tried to trade in my m235i to last year, enthusiast build with 6MT. Already CPO'd by BMW, just needed to be pictured and listed. They offered me $32,500 on trade. OK.....so I took it over the mountains, put it on consignment, and they netted me $39,500, sold it for $43k. That's $10,500 gross on a $43k sale. Just for reference, another dealer offered $36k to buy it outright, no trade. It's just the local dealer playing the "only game in town" role for people lazy enough not to drive a few hours and save $5,000.
I contacted the dealership and they said clutch feels good but they're not sure if it was ever replaced (I don't think it has). Had a minor driver's side fender bender, air bags not deployed. Also sent me the DME report:
Total Hours: 1255.6h
Counts:
Range 1: 1674
Range 2: 285
Range 3: 84
Range 4: 42
Range 5: 0
Range 6: 0
Operating hours:
Range 1: 1221.8h
Range 2: 1221.8h
Range 3: 997.7h
Range 4: 997.7h
Range 5: 0h
Range 6: 0h
DME report looks fine. Price is probably a few grand high if it had an accident, and considering the miles and lack of options.
That's what I was thinking as well, although mileage is solid. Also looks like the left taillight is chipped on the edge. Getting it for like 60k wouldn't be bad though I think
Almost seems too cheap for Park Place. That is a $66k car easy at most dealers, if not more, with those seats and deviated stitching, SPASM. PP always charges top dollar too, with all of that funny money running around Seattle these days. Wonder if it has an OverREV issue or repair that is not listed? Cars without the full leather and buckets sell at that price, in a manual, at Porsche dealers in a day or 2.
Ipanema blue doesn't show up often and eBay has a nice one listed. They have it as an S in the listing but the vin check says carrera 4 GTS. Only about 13 k miles, cab with black interior.
