From most to least desirable IMHO:
  1. 100% original paint, still near flawless
  2. 100% original paint, some minor flaws
  3. Repaint minor panels, like bumpers or hood, fully documented, perfect job, near flawless
  4. Repainted panels without documentation, but looks good
  5. Heavily flawed paint, original
  6. Heavily flawed paint, signs of repaint

Absolutely not. If you document the respray and its done by a respected shop who does a good job, It will raise the value.

With that said, if its a few rock chips, I would have them filled as it avoids the nervous nelly buyer who thinks the sky is falling because of paint thickness.

If it weren't a Cab... I might have considered it. On the fence with respect to the wrap.

Good deal? so so. Again, it's a Tiptronic.

$65K for a clean, no stories 2008 Turbo coupe with manual transmission at 40K miles would be a decent deal. Much easier to find a great deal on a Tiptronic if your ok with an auto.

FYI, I drove a Racing Green 997.2 C2S at P-car Livermore today. It is in decent shape, but has a LOT of rock chips on the front bumper, at least 30 to the clear coat. Interior seems fine. Boring build: Beige, PDK, SC, not much else to speak of, they are asking $57,900.

I did like the color, racing green is sharp in person. This color is hard to find and for a PDK fan, may be worth pursuing. Car was typical PDK+: aggressive downshifting and plenty of kick in the pants. I prefer a manual, and the sales guy was implying I was an idiot by stating that preference. Kind of like someone calling you an idiot for stating your favorite color is blue, not red.

FYI - That car was on Shift SF for about $47K for the LONGEST TIME.

Sounds interesting an off color is suitable for me I like different looking cars they are attention getters either good vibes or bad vibes the pastel colors are coming back in style. but as for the 997.2 C2S was it a convertible? So there must be story there some where.

Not heavy on the options but appears to be a clean low mile 997.2 4S manual at $55k

Well then, Shift obviously should stand for another 4-letter word! The car hadn't been detailed, needed a full paint correction. $47k is reasonable, I wouldn't pay $57k without it being pristine.

I have looked at that car on line enough to know they are using some of the same photos as Shift.

Lame, somebody should call out that dealer. I swung by as I was in the area, wanted to see how clean it was and post it up here for general info. They treated me as an annoyance.
