I really haven’t been looking for 991.1, as the 997 looks slightly better to me and has been on my list for a while, but I do find 997.2 much harder to find than 997.1, especially with the third pedal.
My shopping list is short but without much wiggle room. Must haves are blue exterior (cobalt is best), manual transmission, and non-salvage/branded title. I can turn a wrench with the help of you tube and am not scared off by something that could use some sorting cosmetically or has some mileage.
Found this on Auto Trader:

Add in the subjective nature of this type of purchase, preferences (gotta-have vs nice-to-have) and unicorn (or lack there of) requirements of motivated / interested buyers, the available supply further declines. I won't try to predict the future, but @johncurtis's recent experience and my experience while shopping for my 997.2 4s 6MT back in 2013 are similar. Demand is still seemingly outstripping supply. Perceived value is an interesting topic when related to certain 911 models. Is a premium being assigned to this vintage? Will the 2009-2012 997 vintage earn that premium now that all of our engines are susceptible to imploding? I guess that the bore-scoring issue will have some bearing, but I digress...
@johncurtis, the 997 c2 that you pointed to looks interesting. Are you located in it's neck of the woods? I was near the store recently; I would've loved to stop by and check it out. Unfortunately I'm not down there again until apr 29th but maybe someone else can eyeball etc. her if you are located somewhere else? I'll let the more knowledgeable peeps comment on the price but I suspect that there is some wiggle room in the price, no? Midnight blue cleans up (and stays clean) very well and is one of my fave colors to photograph so nice choice...

Does anyone have any background on this 911? It looks like it had a pretty solid service history at dealerships, so I'm really intrested more in the accident down in West Palm Beach. Looks like it had an accident and 4 days later it was washed and prepped, so maybe not a very extensive repair. Also, any thoughts on the price would be appreciated. I've been watching prices lately on 4 and 4S models and this seems to be competitive,...but the accident might be holding this price down a little bit?

Here's another one then I'm also intrested in finding out if anyone has any background on. It had an accident that repair costs ran around $2000 on the rear end. Although $2000 in repairs really doesn't cover very much, there could have been other damage that wasn't actually addressed at that time. I would really appreciate if anybody recognizes this car or has any other knowledge of it that they could share that would be great. Also if anybody has any thoughts on pricing of this vehicle that would be greatly appreciated as well.

2008 997 GT3 with 8k miles and ceramics
most prefer the .2 but I think the .1 gt3 is great

looks like all 4 wheels need to be refinished - tells me we had a careless owner - Id look closely at the rest of the car with a paint meter.
Great find, probably worth $98k. Should hold its value very well over the next 10k miles.
if i didn't just buy a new T I’d be all over this one.

Has anyone seen this car for sale (not the scam ad) on the auto sites? That is a sweet build, probably worth $34-35k easily.

After searching for 2 years for the perfect blue cab I found one with PCCBs but lost it due to excessive pondering. Now back to the search
