whats considerd a “premium” for the aero over a non aero? Most .1 S cars are $37-42k......is the aero worth $8-12k?

Not to most people: $3-5k perhaps. The Atlas Grey one Overton had was at $49k forever, didn't it sell for $46k? Same car w/o Aerokit is $41-42k. That was a premium color that people will pay extra for as well.

$4300 plus paint and install gets you a Getty Ducktail and OEM sport design bumper.

Not to most people really isn't much of a concern because there are not a lot of factory aero kit cars in the market at any given time. There is a small subclass of people, like me, that would only want a 997 coupe if it had factory aero kit and possibly a power kit as well. Otherwise, I am going turbo or GT car.

There will always be examples of lower or outlier priced vehicles, but the value of ANY 911 can change real quick depending upon color, options, paint work not on car fax, accidents, maintenance issues, rough interior and etc. Atlas Grey also seems to be a luke warm color. I had bought a new Atlas grey 911 about 15 years and kind of liked the color though I traded that car about 6 or 7 months later.

Back when I was in the market for 997.1 S with aero kit before I decided not chance it with a .1 out of scoring concerns, most of the vehicles I looked at were lower to mid $50ks. The cars that met my criteria were about $10k more and the aero kit, power kit combination cars were going at nutzo prices. I am super picky and super knowledgeable, however, about how something seeming to be a good or great deal can quickly end up costly more $$$s and head/heartache than those premium overpriced appearing vehicles.

Yes, aero kit can be $5-10k premium over a similar car it seems. As far as paintwork, as the car gets older the harder and harder that gets. Which is unfortunate. Dents, scrapes, chips, scratches start to accumulate and some owners decide they would rather have the nicer paint and the respray. But as long as it is truly a respray and not an accident then you should be good. A no paint work car again would command a premium over one that had any paint work.

Just an Update. I'll have to wait a while on a 997. I ended up buying a 996 Turbo yesterday.

Thanks to everyone that helped on the search for a 997. This will do for now to get my feet wet into the Turbo world.

My thread.

Thank you Sir! I'm a Silver / Grey guy when it comes to preferred colors but this was too good a deal to pass on. I'll eventually sell to get my Silver 997TT or if I end up loving it, I'll just wrap it in Silver until I decide to sell.

I had 3 996tts (01, 03 and 04cab) and all were black. Suits that body style well. I also drove the wheels of mine as daily drivers. Put 80k on the 04 ttcab. Solid and reliable cars.

With all that's already been done to this one and the few things it needs, I'm hoping it'll be very reliable for me too. Got a great deal I think, so I should be able to drive it a while and not lose anything. Long as market stays like it is / has been.

Are set on only 2010's? I've changed the filter to 2009-2012 and found this really clean one in SoCal.

One more - A nice looking 2011 C2S PDK with 41,800 miles in Chicago for $57,000 - From the S cars that have been on offer lately, this might not be a bad starting point for negotiation. Lots of service receipts in the pictured pile. I know nothing more than Craigslist about this car, but I like the build and the wheels.
