I'm in the same boat. My car needed a full rebuild. Best bet I ever made.

In fairness to Mr. Jourdan, he did provide other options that were a lot cheaper. However, those were included in a PDF document I was unable to view because of computer problems. So, I didn't even know there were other options available. I just found out today. I will recontact Mr. Jourdan about drive train coverage for 3 years.

Feel free to refer to the Platinum policy I bought and ask him why yours is twice as much with lower miles. Can't remember the cut off point but they won't sell these policies to cars that reach a certain age. I think it's 10 years but can't be sure. Up to that point I get the impression that lower miles on the car gets you a lower price than what lower age does. Having factory warranty or CPO left on the car or some other current extended warranty will also get you a lower price. I bought my policy with one month left on the CPO. Since yours is a 2009 I don't see how you could have anything other than another after market policy or nothing at all which may have played a role here..

Has anyone had experience with Liberty Bell Auto Protect? I've been calling around about Fidelity Platinum but it seems that many of the dealerships no longer offer it.

I received a quote for Liberty Bell Auto Protect Platinum Prime (they list what is included, but also what is excluded) on my 2009 Carrera 4S manual with 79,500 miles, 3yr/36K for $2,350 and 4yr/48k for $2,855. $0 Deductible and they would throw in wheel/tire coverage as well. It doesn't seem quite as comprehensive as Fidelity though.
https://libertybellauto.com/wp-conte...pdated-vsp.pdf

Also, with these policies, it does state it excludes: MISUSE OR ABUSE, FAILURE TO PERFORM MAINTENANCE SERVICES, OR ANY OTHER NEGLIGENCE, (E.G., OVERLOADING, RACING, COMPETITIVE DRIVING ACTIVITIES OR SNOW PLOWING), OR FROM MODIFICATION, ALTERATION, TAMPERING, DISCONNECTION, IMPROPER TOWING, IMPROPER ADJUSTMENTS OR SERVICING, OR USING THE VEHICLE IN ANY MANNER NOT RECOMMENDED BY THE MANUFACTURER;

I was thinking about taking the vehicle to an Autox event or maybe one of the local DE events, but that would fall under racing/competitive driving. Has anyone experienced issues with a claim stemming from a DE event?

It's Fidelity Warranty Services, right? They really have awful reviews overall, whereas Liberty Bell, Infinite and Endurance have very high ratings.

Let me see what I can find for quotes from Fidelity as I've struggled a bit at the regular sources (Mossy, Alhambra, Atlanta Perimeter, Troy Dietrich wont cover past factory warranty, etc.) and when I called Fidelity, they quoted me $12,000 for a 4yr/48K mile Select plan, which was not even the exclusionary.

I don't know what you think you're going to get for auto service contract that only costs ~2300 for 3 years and 36k miles on a 10 year old car with nearly 80k miles. The mileage on your 09 is what is making the Fidelity warranty more expensive. I have never heard of Liberty Bell Auto Protect... but I wouldn't even sniff their policy based on pricing alone. Fidelity is more or less proven on this forum and we have a great contact through MJ to get those policies set up. Mine paid out quadruple what I paid for it when I had to have my transmission replaced. Don't believe the reviews you read online, you don't know who is writing them.

If I was you, I would take that money and stick it in a savings account in case you need to pay for repairs in the future. At 80k miles, chances are you won't have to cover any big ticket items.

Was kind of curious so just inquired and got a quote from MJ for a 2009 C2 with 64k miles: $10,231 for 4/48k platinum with $500 ded. At this price, I'm thinking I'm better off self-insuring.

However, 4/48k Gold was $5,520 and 4/48k Powertrain was $3,258 which sound more palatable. What would you all do?

The platinum level warranty would be the one to get. But at $10K, I would self insure.

With those miles WP, oil seals leaking all covered on platinum. this can get expensive for Fidelity and they know it. thus the price.

Buy the big ticket engine trans failure and self insure the smail oil weeps/leaks, coil packs, WP stuff.

Just a thought.

Most posts on RL about Fidelity Platinum are good.

Newport Porsche 20 year service manager said great to work with and that its the only plan they recommended. I have had good experience with mine.

In a similar decision point as mujeriega. 2009 C2S with 77k miles. Only the powertrain warranty would make financial sense vs self insuring. Has anyone gotten themselves a non platinum policy and got their claims covered? particularly PDK and/or engine?
