2009 997.2, 51K miles, should be delivered in a couple of weeks. Quoted $5280 for $100 deductible Platinum 5yr/60K mile through dealer from Safeguard. I took the deal. Both of my local Porsche dealerships had very good things to say about the Safeguard service contract. Not trying to go off topic from Fidelity, just FYI. Fidelity was not an option offered from the dealership I bought the car from.

And total coverage repair $$$ cannot exceed cost of the car, according to my contract.

+1. About 40% less than anyone else I got quotes from. Bought a 3 year Platinum policy from him recently so my research is up to date.

Do you guys wait it out a bit before getting the warranty (while keeping miles low) just to squeeze out more weeks or months?

I'm working with MJ on Fidelity quotes. Can anyone recommend coverage - gold, gold + and platinum? I have read the differences more interested in real life experience. I actually do not mind 'normal' Porsche repairs mostly concerned with big ticket items = bore scoring and IMS issues. Neither are present with my car now. Coverage will be on a 07 C4S with 28,500 miles.

What is price Delta between gold vs platinum? If it's not significant better to go with platinum in case there are issues that are costly. I'm going with platinum on 2011 gts coupe.

i agree. I’m going with platinum. Difference is less than $500.

The quote I got from Mossy motors for a 5/60 platinum plan was $11,137.00. My car is a 2009 C2S with 53K miles and I drive 3k miles per year. I did not purchase the plan.

That is a lot. But, will you keep your car that long? Pcar owners tend to buy and sell regularly. Perhaps a few years plan as you can always extend it.

BTW - Looking at a car at Phillips Auto and googled PPI Newport Beach and saw your post. Very helpful as I may be getting a PPI soon. Glad it worked out for you.

I got that quote about 4 months ago under different circumstances. The car is turning out to be a lot more impractical than I hoped. But, it was a lot of fun!

Biggest difference is that anything other than Platinum will specify what's covered instead of specifying what is not covered which the Platinum does. Personal preference but I would not buy anything but a Platinum policy since the cheaper policies gives Fidelity much more wiggle room to get out of covering a claim. The list of covered items on the lower priced policies is pretty lengthy which leaves a lot of room for interpretation and a higher probability of denied coverage. With Platinum, the items that are not covered is fairly short and specific which makes any discussions on whether or not something should be covered much less likely.

Agree, so did you get the Platinum yet? years/miles? which vehicle?

The whole idea is to NEVER have to use it but wonderful if you need it. Right?

Sorry to hear that it was so $$$. From my brief understanding, the prices "jump" after 35k miles w/ the Porsche. Not certain with a specific model, but I assume with most of the Sporty model series (carerra, cayman, etc.). Not sure about their SUV lines. For future buyers of used cars, it is probably best to either get a private party deal with less than 35k miles or via dealer with CPO. Anyone else want to chime in?
