I have found that leveling the oil pan and jacking the car left and right drains more oil.

prolly work for the gear oil too

My car has the same symptoms when cold, but I noticed significant improvement after replacing engine mounts. I have the Numeric shifter upgrade.

Eibach pro springs, Function First engine mounts, lower control arms, RSS 7/15 spacers, oil change and a more aggressive alignment. Huge update on driving dynamics!!

New to me in the last few weeks! First wash a couple days ago. Now hiding in the garage while we get snow here in Denver, until I can find the right set of winter wheels/tires.

Also called my local dealership to try and figure out why my PCM is missing AUX/Bluetooth/Phone/Nav functionality. Sounds like the previous owner may have bricked some of these features when recoding the PCM to work with the 991 multi-function steering wheel. Have read a few posts here about putting a CD in, hitting options, and trying to enable it that way. No luck unfortunately. I don't get the AUX/Bluetooth options.

Either way, stoked to be part of the community!

Hi all,

I am a new member today! Not a Porsche owner yet but hoping to change that in very near future.

Apologies if there is a more appropriate thread or forum for my post/question.

I am interested in a 997 in the Denver area and was hoping that this community could recommend some shops to perform a PPI for me. I have found the local Porsche dealership, Prestige Porsche. The selling dealership, not a Porsche dealer, also suggested Autosport Werks in Broomfield and Eurosport Automotive in Arvada (the car was actually last serviced at Eurosport).

In terms of the PPI, is there a “standard” PPI checklist that should be followed and is common knowledge to a reputable independent shop or do I need to specifically outline the scope of the PPI? I was going to specifically ask for a DME report and ask for the inspection to look for signs of cylinder scoring, sooty exhaust tips, checking oil, perhaps cutting the oil filter in half to check for aluminum shavings. The example I am interested in is 997.1, 2008 model year originally sold by Porsche Littleton. The car has pretty solid service records and history of regular oil changes.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions and recommendations!

I hope that I am able to come back to the community in the next few weeks as a proud owner and share some pics!

Check here: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...ers-guide.html

Also check other “stickies” at the top of the 997 Forum. Also try searching. Not to be a *****, but it’s a regular question that pops up on these forums. A lot of your questions have likely already been answered. And by all means, start a thread of your own. People here are always willing to jump in and advise you.

That said definitely get a DME report, have the notes scoped during the PPI. Regular oil changes are great, but there much more to it. Did the car get what it needed when it needed it? How much deferred maintenance is there? Assuming it’s a manual since you mentioned DME, when was the clutch replaced? Has the water pump been replaced. Lots of factors. I suggest starting your own thread if you want specific replies instead of clogging up this one with new purchase chatter. Good luck!! The hunt is half the fun, or so they say.

Beautiful.

Did you also replace the dampers? Any issues with rear toe alignment spec with the lowering springs? TIA.
